INTRODUCTION GHADAQ for Development and FAO/YEMEN signed a Letter of Agreement (LoA) for "the Provision of Beneficiary Verification and Distribution services of livestock inputs to targeted beneficiaries in the targeted districts of Taiz Governorate '. The targeted districts are AL MAWASIT AND HAYFAN of Taiz Governorate. This LoA is under the framework of the project "Emergency agricultural livelihoods support to severely food insecure households in Yemen" OSRO/YEM/806/JPN and implemented by FAO/YEMEN with NGOs partners. The target beneficiaries consist of poor rural households living in selected communities with a focus on stressed host communities, women-headed households and Youth. Men and women with disabilities will also targeted. The project includes verification and distribution services of livestock inputs. The characteristics, location and number of targeted beneficiaries have been specified according to the Letter of Agreement document. Under the LoA conditions signed between the FAO and GHADAQ the activities have targeted poor and food-insecure households as well as beneficiaries affected by the conflict. The following groups have been given priorities: Poor rural households; Sharecroppers and causal workers; Youth. Men and women with disabilities; Women-headed households; Conflict affected households, returnees and IDPs. 3 2. PURPOSE, OBJECTIVE AND DELIVERABLE OUTPUTS 2.1. PURPOSE The purpose of the activities is to restore and increase the use of productivity and nutrition enhancing agricultural practices in targeted project areas of AL MAWASIT AND HAYFAN districts. This will be realized through livelihood assistance in terms of training, awareness building and technical support by distribution of livestock inputs. 2.2. OBJECTIVE The Services contribute to the following organizational objective: To support 1250 households/community in the targeted district(Al Mawasit and Hayfan) through provision of various livestock inputs during the period July- Dec 2019 and engage in livelihood diversification activities and adoption of appropriate technologies to improve their food security resilience. 2.3. OUTPUTS The Service Provider will produce, achieve or deliver the following outputs: Verification and Distribution of livestock inputs to targeted beneficiaries in targeted 2 districts (Al Mawasit and Hayfan) of Taiz Governorate. The inputs are: 1250 households supported with 3750 head of live animals, 125 MT of feed concentrate, 6.25 MT of Mineral blocks and 40 MT of Feed blocks. Training and capacity development sessions to the heads of community committees (One day training session) and one day awarness session for each HH beneficiary through heads of committees and on topics related to animal husbandry (to be identified by FAO national consultants). Monthly reports and final report. 2.4. ACTIVITIES The following activities have been undertaken: 1. Conducted the verification process of the benificiaries, which is in the provided list and ensured all beneficiaries are fufilling the selection criteria; recorded the telephone number and other significant personal data (village, ID, sex, etc) using the excel file provided by FAO . 2. Establishment of 41 community committees (each committee contains not more than 30 representatives from each targeted HH beneficiary. 3. Carried y-out one set of training sessions on the areas of livestock to the heads of established community committees (based on the input each HH is receiving). 4. Made the necessary arrangements to contact all beneficiaries informing them of criteria for distribution 5. Coordinated with the suppliers to identify the places in each district as distribution points for livestock inputs. 4 6. In coordination with supplier, local authorities at district, Director of agricultural office in governorate Ghadaq prepareed distribution plan of all inputs to the targeted benficiaries. The distribution lists contained the same names of verified beneficiaries and included the following data: o The name of beneficiary, o the village name, o Sub-district (Ozlah) name, o District name, o Quantity of livestock inputs received, o Stamp (Fingerprint) In addition, the bottom of each list included the signature and stamp of director of local authority, director of agricultural office in the district. 7. Ensured distribution activities were covered by media and photos for the activities made showing the animals, delivery of all inputs to the beneficiaries and a banner with the FAO, Government and JPN logos and name of the activities. 8. Implement M&E activities including field visits and inter-agency coordination. 2.5. DELIVERABLE The following inputs have been delivered 1. 1250 households supported with 3750 head of live animals, 125 MT of feed concentrate, 6.25 MT of Mineral blocks and 40 MT of Feed blocks. 2. Awareness session for each HH beneficiary through specialists on topics related to animal husbandry. 3. IMPLEMENTATION OF ACTIVITIES 4.1. SEQUENCE OF THE PREPARATION FOR IMPLEMENTATION THE ACTIVITIES After signing the LoA Ghadaq has to prepare and submit a project file for SCEMCHA contains cover letter, targeted governorate, targeted districts, kind of activities and targeted BFs, requesting a license for conducting the activities in AL MAWASIT AND HAYFAN districts; After receiving the approval license GHADAQ appointed a technical supervisor, general coordinator and awareness supervisor; Selection and contract the district coordinators for AL MAWASIT AND HAYFAN with the following main tasks: (a) Help by contacting of local authorities and explain to them the purpose of the ongoing activities; (b) Help by selection of the surveyors teams in both districts; (c) Help by training the selected teams on how to deal with the questionnaires; (d) Day by day follow up the field work and receiving the forms filled and coming from every member of the field team, archive the forms, entering the data
