BLOOD DONATION CAMP ON 1ST JULY, 2020 We are delighted that our DG Sudip 1st July - On 1st July 2020, District3291 organised a mega Blood Donation camp at M u k h e r j e e i s several venues, across our State and have collected 352 units of Blood, donated by selected as the Rotarians, their family members and friends. Three donors from our club, Sri Arun secretary of the Kumar & Sri Rakesh Kumar at Rotary Sadan & Sri Bappa Kundu at Cancer hospital, donated blood on that G o v e r n o r s occasion. President Rtn. Outgoing President Rtn. Adrija handed over the Collar, Hammer & Gravel to the Incoming President Rtn. Ashit Kumar Sinha. They exchanged gift among themselves. CELEBRATION OF SILVER JUBILEE YEAR OF OUR CLUB ON 4TH JULY, 2020 4th July - CELEBRATION OF SILVER JUBILEE YEAR OF OUR CLUB:RCNB completed 25 years on 28th June, 2020. (Club was Chartered on 28th June 1996). On the occasion of Club's Silver Jubilee celebration, chartered member PDG Angsuman Bandyopadhyaydiscussed the golden old days – how our founder president Rtn. Arati Dutta,who being a member of RC Calcutta South West, that time, formed this club with the help of DG Alok Chand Mitra of RC East Calcutta who sponsored this club. Secretary gave delicious chocolates to all the members and the guests to celebrate the said occasion. COTS AND CLUB ASSEMBLY ON 4TH JULY, 2020 4th July - COTS & CLUB ASSEMBLY – COTS & CLUB ASSEMBLY of the Club was held on 4th July, 2020 at “Tintin and the Brussels Club” Restaurant, located at Hindusthan Park. AG Shampa Ghosh & ZS Chitra Das were present on the occasion. Club trainer PDG Angsuman Bandyopadhyay conducted the COTs and Club Assembly duly assisted by the AG & ZS.He started with introducing all the club members personally to the District officials (AG & ZS). He then shared essential information for club officers in brief as like “Rotary Vision statement, Club Leadership Plan, Avenues of Service, Core values of Rotary, President Rtn. Ashit Kr. Sinha handing over a token of New Strategic priorities & objectives, Guiding principles, Seven Areas of Focus etc. He explained club appreciation to AG Rtn. Shampa Ghosh constitution & bylaws, with project planning for upcoming Rotary year- how club members would accomplish their projects following 7 areas of focus keeping also in mind the Covid pandemic. He requested AG & ZS to share their views. AG & ZS both praised our efforts on club Projects and requested to follow the guide lines of R.I., forming an effective committee as per club leadership plan, etc. Copy of Club Constitution, Club By- laws, budget, list of club board members &a hard copy of club bulletin, “Setu” were handed over to them. They felt satisfied with the papers. They told club members to attend different training programmes of Rotary District 3291, Zonal and of Rotary International, to update the goals in RotaryClub Central, to send the semi-annual and other dues in time, etc. Secretary Rtn. GREEN EXPEDITION - TREE PLANTATION DISASTER Chitra Das PROGRAM ON 18TH JULY, 2020 MANAGEMENT RCNB has sponsored 2 Shelter Kits for the Amphan affected people at Hasnabad area. As already confirmed by Rotary India Humanity Foundation, 3 matching Shelter Kits were sponsored by them against our 2, making total 200 out of 500 shelter boxes being despatched to Hasnabad contribution of RCNB as Five. Last Instalment despatched to Hasnabad MIRPUR& KHARIBERIYA VISIT ON 23RD AUGUST, 2020 RCNB organized a tree plantation programme at RCC Mirpur Rural Centre & International Mother's Mission School at Khariberia, on Sunday 23rd August, 2020. They planted 72 saplings – 42 saplings at the green areas of RCC Mirpore Rural Centre & 30 saplings at the premises of Mothers Mission International School at Khariberia. Out of the 72, 22 Nos. (10 Mehagani's, 5 Segun's& 5 sal's)had been arranged by RCNB, whereas 52 Saplings(10 Mehagani, 1 Debdaru, 13 Arjune, 4 Members of RCNB planting saplings at RCC Mirpur Rural Members of RCNB planting saplings at Khariberia Radhachura, 7 Tekoma, 4 Amloki, 7 Sonajhuri/Akashmaoni, 5 Centre Puonjeba/Pashimi Jui & 1 Jui) were gifted by Rotary Club of Ganga Heritage, , in a good will gesture. Rotary Club New Ballygunge in association with our RCC Bandhur Sparsha had organized a nice programme for distribution of 400 masks to the Bus workers of Patuli Central Bus stand .Vegetable vendors at Patuli market and members of ‘Jatra Suru Sangha’ club members of Garia. This project of our club for the noble cause against protection of COVID 19 Virus was attended by our Club members, President Rtn. Ashit Sinha, Secy Anuradha Bysack, PP Rtn. Sanmoy Guha and Rtn. Sagnik Bhattacharya, Chairman Club Public Image Committee along with the members of Bandhur Sparsha. Dr Basuli Chakravorty of Bandhur Sparsha and Rtn. Anuradha Bysack had explained the need of wearing masks to the beneficiaries. The news was broadcasted in the ABP Ananda on the same day. MASK DISTRIBUTION PROGRAM ON 23RD AUGUST, 2020 AT MIRPUR & KHARIBERIA MASK DISRIBUTION PROGRAM AT MIRPUR, DIST. 24 PGS (S) –Members of the RCNB distributed Masks and Sanitizers to the inmates of the Old Age Home and other staffs working within the campus of Mirpur Rural Centre. The Club also distributed 100 Masks to the vendors at Khariberia Market. Local Councilor was also present during the event. Mask Distribution at Khariberia Market RCNB OBSERVED SENIOR CITIZEN DAY 23RD AUGUST, 2020 OBSERVED SENIOR CITIZEN DAY: Members of RCNB observed belated senior citizen's day on 23 August, 2020 at Mirpur Old Age Home. Members spent valuable time with the inmates showing respect & compassion to the senior citizens. RCNB members also distributed masks and sanitizers to them. CLUB MEETING SPEAKER PDG ANGSUMAN BANDYOPADHYAY PDG Angsuman Bandyopadhyay gave an elaborate speech on “Asha Kiron” a Child Development Project of Rotary India Literacy Mission (RILM) under the “T-E-A-C- H”program, in which T stands for Teacher Support, E stands for E- Learning, A stands for Adult Literacy, C stands for Child development and H for Happy School. He explained how each of these verticals consisted one or more programmatic interventions, Asha Kiran being one of such under ‘Child Development’ vertical. He explained that, “Asha Kiron” is to bring the drop out school children back to the regular mainstream school system and thus the overall goal was to bring back 1,00,000 children into the regular mainstream school system by 2025. He told that a Rotarian or Club can sponsor as many Children they want @ Rs 2500.00 per child. In this regard PDG Angsuman announced that PP Arindam Ghosh is the Chairman of Adult Literacy for RY 2020-21. PP Rtn. Arpita mentioned that our Interact club received award in 'Each one teach one' project under the program of 'Adult Literacy' two years ago. President proposed that in the current year our club could join the “Asha Kiran” project and willing members can sponsor one or more child. CLUB MEETINGS of 8TH AUGUST CELEBRATION OF BARSHA MANGAL 8th August - Secretary Anuradha initiated the program 'ESHECHE BARASHA ESECHE NABINA BARASHA'with paying homage to Rabindranath Tagore on his 79th death anniversary. Members of RC New Ballygunge performed by singing Rabindra sangeet, recitations and speeches. It was an enjoyable programme. At the end, new member Rtn. Nandini Banerjee summed up the event with a cute power point presentation. CLUB MEETINGS OF 29th AUGUST'20 SPEAKER- RTN. SAGNIK BHATTACHARYAY Our youngest member Rtn. Sagnik Bhattacharya, a Marine Engineer by Profession gave a brilliant 50 minutes speech starting with the technical aspects of a ship (both cargo & passenger),in detail, like its history, its basic differences with other water carrying vehicles, its making, engineering design, sizes, movement in water, area of functioning etc. to the responsibilities of crew members including him as the 2nd Engineer. He made his presentation interesting by a pictorial demonstration in white board. Members requested him to share his personal sailing experience in the near future in another talk.

OUR INTERACT CLUB 8th August – Our Interact club at Gokhale Memorial Girls' School sent their Annual Report-R.Y19-20. Members appreciated activities of our Interact club. The interactor team of RY 2020-21 did a virtual cultural programme on 22se Sraban & Tree Plantation project and PP Rtn. Arpita forwarded that to our club whats app group. It was an excellent virtual programme. DISTRICT CHANGE OVER CEREMONY 2020 – 2021 DISTRICT CHANGEOVER CEREMONY held at Hyatt on 1st July, 2020. Our Club Members participated in online. Our PDG Angsuman Bandyopadhyay was physically present at the event as the District Trainer and presented details of all the training activities held prior to beginning of the new Rotary year 2020-21 through a Power Point presentation. GREEN EXPEDITION : Inauguration of District Tree plantation Programme, 1st phase, was held on 2nd August, 2020 at Dhyanashram & District Tree plantation Programme (2nd phase) was held on 19th August, 2020 at EM Bypass opposite ITC Royal Bengal Hotel. PDG Angsuman was present on both the occasion, planted trees and he gave an excellent speech on green initiative.
