ANNUAL REPORT 2018 | 2019

Grand Rapids 2030 District

The Grand Rapids 2030 District is a public-private partnership committed to creating high-performing buildings and smart mobility options that:

- Drawdown carbon in Grand Rapids' built environment - Increase marketability and profitability for property owners - Strengthen the greater community's vibrancy

The GR2030 District was launched in December 2015 by former Mayor George Heartwell alongside business, civic and community leaders. The deep rooted and long-standing culture of sustainability across the city has been growing for more than a quarter century and the City of Grand Rapids received the world's first LEED certified municipal building designation in 2004. Under the leadership of Mayor Rosalynn Bliss, the City of Grand Rapids was an early signer of "We are Still In" and is committed to city-wide carbon emissions reduction and climate resilience. As a key partner with the City on the Zero Cities Project, we continue to blaze an intentional trail to equitable carbon neutrality.
