Phone Calls

If your room has a desk phone, this can be used to make internal calls within your residence. It cannot make external calls. If you need to make external calls, please see the list below of ways you can make an external call (all options work on the UOW wireless network):

Available on PC, Mac, iOS & Android Skype can be installed on your computer or smartphone to make free calls to other Skype users. They also provide a service where you can add credit to your Skype account to enable you to call landlines and mobiles around the world.

Viber – viber.com

Available on PC, Mac, iOS & Android Viber is a messaging service that provides free messaging, voice and video calls to other Viber users. It also includes a service where you can add credit to your Viber account to enable you to call landlines and mobiles around the world.

Facebook Messenger – messenger.com

Available on Web, iOS & Android If you already have a Facebook account you can download the Facebook Messenger app for your smartphone and make free voice/video calls to other Facebook Messenger users. Alternatively you can log onto messenger.com from your computer and place a call that way.

WhatsApp – whatsapp.com

Available on PC, Mac, iOS & Android WhatsApp is a messaging service that provides free messaging, voice and video calls to other WhatsApp users.

WeChat - wechat.com

Available on PC, Mac, iOS & Android WeChat is a messaging service that provides free messaging, voice and video calls to other WeChat users.
