FILMNATION ENTERTAINMENT TO FINANCE AND PRODUCE SCI-FI THRILLER AETHER BASED ON BRITISH NEWCOMER KRYSTY WILSON-CAIRNS’ ORIGINAL SCRIPT

March 13, 2014 – New York, NY – FilmNation Entertainment announced that they will produce, finance and handle worldwide sales for AETHER, the highly sought after sci-fi thriller written by Krysty Wilson-Cairns that surfaced in the market only last week. The casting process and search for a director have already begun for the brand new British writer's project. Plot details are currently being kept under wraps.

FilmNation’s President of Production Aaron Ryder said, "I'm astounded by the level of talent and inventiveness we've come across from such a young voice. We're terribly excited to produce this film. We're also anxious to learn how to pronounce its title!"

The project, which Wilson-Cairns initially developed with her UK agent and then wrote on spec, was brought into the company by FilmNation Director of Development Patrick Chu. Ryder, along with EVP Karen Lunder, will shepherd the project. The deal was negotiated by EVP Business & Legal Affairs Alison Cohen on behalf of FilmNation and by Marnie Podos of United Agents in London and Tara S. Kole of Gang, Tyre, Ramer & Brown on behalf of Wilson-Cairns.

FilmNation Entertainment is currently in development on numerous high profile titles including STORY OF YOUR LIFE to be directed by Denis Villeneuve; and Robert DeNiro starrer THE GOOD HOUSE; THE RULES OF INHERITANCE, starring Jennifer Lawrence; and many more. The company recently brought Dan Beers' high school sex comedy PREMATURE as an official selection to the SXSW Film Festival where it was very well received by audiences and critics alike.

Production vet Aaron Ryder heads up FilmNation’s production arm.
