With likely pace angle Frankuus (Frankel) unwilling to enter the stalls, it was last season’s Gr.2 winner Eminent (Frankel) who led, tracked by Forest Ranger (Lawman) and War Decree (War Front). Restrained in front by Oisin Murphy, the leader slowed the pace down from around the six pole. He was ridden along three out, but was soon back peddling. Meanwhile, Forest Ranger loomed on his outer and, having gone clear entering the home straight, he kept on gamely to record a length and a quarter win. War Decree ran on for second, two and a half lengths ahead of the late-finishing veteran Gabrial (Dark Angel). Eminent proved a bitter disappointment, trailing home last, beaten over 13 lengths by the winner. A winner on each of this three seasons, Forest Ranger has now done something which he had not done previously and backed up a victory with another win. Gelded over the winter, the Yeguada de Milagro-bred bay landed the Gr.3 Earl of Sefton Stakes at Newmarket last month, his first success in Stakes company. TUESDAY, 31 AUGUST 2021 THE WEEKLY WRAP: SCENE IS SET AUGUST SALE ENTERS By Emma Berry A host of good fillies have won the G3 Prestige S. at Goodwood ROUND TWO over the years, with the most recent Classic heroine to have emerged from the race being Billesdon Brook (GB) (Champs Elysees {GB}), who paid a handsome compliment to her breeder Bob McCreery in the months after his death in December 2016. This year's winner Mise En Scene (GB) (Siyouni {Fr}) will certainly have her second-season trainer James Ferguson dreaming of the first weekend of May next year at his local course of Newmarket. And he has good reason beyond just his filly's performance to date as there's a 1000 Guineas winner very close up in her pedigree. Mise En Scene's dam, the unraced Gadfly (GB) (Galileo {GB})), is a half-sister to Pam Sly's 2006 winner Speciosa (Ire) (Danehill Dancer {Ire}). More immediately, the filly, who is now unbeaten in two starts, looks likely to try out the Rowley Mile for size this autumn as she hold entries for the G2 Rockfel S. and G1 Fillies' Mile. The company will offer 18 mares as part of the Far From Over/Fountain of Youth Dispersal. All will be consigned by Stuart Morris. The group of mares are property of a partnership supporting young stallion Far From Over (Blame). The 2015 GIII Withers S. winner had been standing at stud in California before suffering a pelvis injury early in the 2021 breeding season that took him out of service for the remainder of the year. The mares that had not yet been bred to him were shipped to Kentucky and bred to stallions there. Due to the circumstances, the partnership has opted to disperse of all its holdings.
