  • ABBC 2016 Annual Report
IMPACT FOR A SUSTAINABLE FUTURE ANNUAL REPORT 2016 ATLANTA BETTER BUILDINGS CHALLENGE One of my proudest accomplishments as Mayor of Atlanta is the tremendous success achieved through the Atlanta Better Buildings Challenge (ABBC). The Office of Resilience has partnered with businesses and nonprofit organizations to implement a comprehensive, voluntary program to increase energy and water efficiency in our building stock. The Atlanta Better Buildings Challenge invites participating building owners to commit to a 20 percent reduction in energy and water use by year 2020. With more than 114 million square feet of building space and more than 600 buildings pledged, Atlanta has earned its spot as a leader on the efficiency scoreboard. Since 2011, this successful public-private partnership between the City of Atlanta, Central Atlanta Progress, Livable Buckhead, Midtown Alliance and Southface has positioned Atlanta as a national leader in energy and water efficiency. We surpassed our water reduction goal five years ahead of schedule, and we’re quickly closing the gap on our energy goal, having already reduced our portfolio’s energy consumption by 17 percent. Through the Atlanta Better Buildings Challenge, participants are saving money on bills now, while helping to ensure a more resilient future for all Atlantans. This program plays a pivotal role in furthering Atlanta as a top-tier city for sustainability. We hope to inspire other cities by our achievements and lead by example as we continue to make big strides in reducing our energy and water usage. Thanks to our participants in the Challenge. Sincerely, Mayor Kasim Reed INTRODUCTION | 03 IMPROVING THE EFFICIENCY OF OUR BUILDINGS 20 PERCENT BY 2020 The goal of the Department of Energy’s Better Buildings Resource conservation efforts not only support the City’s Challenge is to improve the efficiency of commercial, sustainability efforts and lead to a cleaner and healthier institutional, industrial, and multifamily buildings by 20% or place to live and work, but the dollar savings achieved more by 2020.

She joined JLL in February 2010 and is currently responsible for marketing and leasing Paces West in Vinings, The Pavilion at 5780 Powers Ferry Road and 6t200 The Corners Parkway in Peachtree Corners. In 2013 Younglove and her JLL partners rebranded, renovated, repositioned and fully leased, Hammond Exchange, a GE owned Class A asset in Central Perimeter, bringing the vacant 250,000 sf building to 100% leased in less than 12 months and enabling GE to sell the asset for $138/sf more than the value, just one year earlier. Prior to joining JLL, Younglove, served as VP of Colonial Properties Trust, was responsible for leasing a 1.7 million sf Class A office portfolio, which included Regions Plaza and The Peachtree in Midtown, Three Ravinia Drive and 1455 Lincoln Parkway in the Central Perimeter and The Park at Windward Concourse in North Fulton. She provided oversight of the company’s marketing efforts for a 3 million sf portfolio in Atlanta while increasing occupancy of the 805,000 sf, Three Ravinia form 49% to 95%. In 2007, Younglove closed 536,880 square feet of lease transactions, valued at over $123 million and was named by NAIOP as the Top Producer for office leasing in the city. Younglove previously served as SVP of Prentiss Properties, where she oversaw the leasing and management in Atlanta.

  • SALT LAKE CITY HISTORIC LANDSCAPES REPORT Executive Summary
SALT LAKE CITY HISTORIC LANDSCAPES REPORT Executive Summary Warms Springs Park SLCHLR NO. 26 Warm Springs Park is located within the Capitol Hill National Historic District in Salt Lake City, Salt Lake County, Utah. It fronts on Beck Street (300 West) and Wall Street at 840 North Beck Street. The Warm Springs Park landscape is not considered historic in and of itself; however, it has historic significance because of the recognition of the area encompassing the historic warm springs; and its association with past building site(s) including the original 1922 Warm Springs Municipal Bathhouse located directly to the north. Warm Springs Park was established as a neighborhood park in 1925. The nine-acre park is bordered by Beck Street to the west, Wall Street to the southwest, Victory Road to the east, the historic warm springs site and North Gateway Park to the north, and an electrical substation to the south. The park site is relatively flat, nestled into the lower slopes of West Capitol Hill. Victory Road is several stories higher than the park site, tracing the terrain of the hill. A mix of commercial and light industrial uses are located on the opposite side of Beck Street, with a mix of single-family and higher-density residential uses dominating the Wall Street environment and neighborhoods to the south. There are numerous historic residences in the vicinity of the park particularly to the south. The park is accessed from Beck Street (300 West) and Wall Street. The park is divided into three character-defining sections: Northern Entrance & Tennis Courts, Open Park and Southern Entrance & Playground.
