Walaupun dari waktu ke waktu beraneka ragam bunyi, seperti klakson maupun mesin sepeda motor dan mobil, handphone, radio, televisi, tape recorder, dan sebagainya senantiasa mengerumuni kita, tidak semuanya dapat dianggap sebagai musik karena sebuah karya musik harus memenuhi syarat-syarat tertentu. Syarat-syarat tersebut merupakan suatu sistem yang ditopang oleh berbagai komponen seperti melodi, harmoni, ritme, timbre (warna suara), tempo, dinamika, dan bentuk (Moh. Muttaqin, 2008:3). Walaupun banyak dari para ahli musik telah mencoba memberikan definisi tentang musik, namun hingga kini belum ada satupun yang diyakini merupakan satu-satunya pengertian yang paling lengkap. Tampaknya ada yang memahami musik sebagai kesan terhadap sesuatu yang ditangkap oleh indera pendengarannya. Di samping itu ada juga yang pemahamannya bertolak dari asumsi bahwa musik adalah suatu karya seni dengan segenap unsur pokok dan pendukungnya. Walaupun demikian, ada juga yang berbeda pandangan dari kedua model tersebut. Bringing the progressive metal genre with elements of jazz and fusion in 'colors' that are relatively different from other progressive metal musicians, especially in technical terms, Felix Martin presents new innovations in the application of two-handed tapping, and musical compositions that incorporate elements of traditional Venezuelan music in the style of progressive metal. High Spirit is one of the repertoires on the album The Scenic by Felix Martin. This musical composition in its application (guitar instruments) uses two-handed tapping. High Spirit is one song that is relatively more technical because it demands rapidly two-handed tapping, and requires high concentration to play it. Felix Martin applies about 70% two-handed tapping on the album. The analysis aims to determine the musical form applied to High Spirit songs, and to find out the concept of two-handed tapping melodic lines on High Spirit songs on the album The Scenic.
