As a matter of fact, as much as possible, we encourage Ghanaian businessmen to explore our 150-million market.”

The bilateral relations between Nigeria and Ghana dates back to the pre-colonial era, with some ethnic groups in the country like the Gas, believed to have migrated from Nigeria.

The countries may share some historical ethnic ties but those ties are not as clear and provable as ties with countries that directly border each country. What is clear, however, is the fact that there has always been trading activities between the people who occupy what is now Ghana and Nigeria.

In the modern era, Nigerians and Ghanaians share a lot more commonalities in language, clothing, entertainment, and to some rivalry extent, sports, hence an increase in trading activities between both countries.

This trading partnership has been growing over the years, and even within the current global economic recession, both countries still enjoy the highest economic activity in the sub- region.
