Sculpture Maintenance

A / landscaper with an interest in art and required, April-October, 2018 to further develop and maintain the surrounding Oeno Gallery and Huff Estates property. Must have landscape maintenance experience with a dedicated eye for detail.

Responsibilities

· New planting as required

· Garden and path maintenance

· Garden watering and feeding and weeding in the Sculpture Garden, Area surrounding Oeno Gallery, Area around Huff Estates Winery, area around Huff Estates Inn

· Use lawn mowers, rototillers and other equipment as required

· Maintain the garden equipment

· Keep areas safe for the public

. Liaison visitors through the garden

. Clean and maintain all in Sculpture Garden, around the gallery and on the Huff Estates property

. Help sculpture coordinate and install their work throughout the property in May, 2018

Skills Required

· skills

· Physical stamina and able to work out of doors through the season

· Good sense of planting presentation

· Reliability and willingness to commit for the season

. Experience operating mowers, weedwackers, rototiller (small machinery, etc)

· Ability to interact pleasantly with members of the public

. Have an interest in sculpture and art

Experience Required

· Experience working in public gardens or landscape maintenance

· Must demonstrate an understanding of the requirements of the plantings in the gardens and maintain them.

Training

Gallery staff, Carlyn Moulton, (Owner), Sandra Goldie (Director), Dana Charles (Communications), Sue Hyatt and Adam Nogrady (Head ) will train candidates in two components of the position.

Gallery staff will train candidates in interacting with visitors and exhibiting artists, develop trainee’s knowledge of the sculptures exhibited on the property and teach trainees how to safely handle, maintain and install sculpture. Sue Hyatt and Adam Nogrady will train and work with candidate on a daily basis in the areas of , gardening and job safety.

Trainee Expectations

Candidate must become comfortable speaking to patrons and knowledgeable about the Huff Estate’s property, the garden and exhibiting artists in outdoor areas.

Learn how to safely maintain and install outdoor sculpture and know about exhibiting artists, their process and materials used.

Trainees should be able to proficiently maintain the landscape, flower beds and gardening required in the area of the Sculpture Garden, Oeno Gallery, Huff’s Inn and Huff Estates Winery.

Compensation: Commensurate with experience.
