EVENING GALA THURSDAY NIGHT Some Like It Hot Director: Billy Wilder; Writers: R. Thoeren, M. Logan Cast: Marilyn Monroe, Tony Curtis, Jack Lemmon www.MGM.com (122 min. / B&W) Thurs. 6/6 At Dusk (on Water Street between Main & Mary Streets) (CLASSIC) – When two musicians witness a mob hit, they flee the state in an all-female band, disguised as women. This outrageous comedy farce is widely acknowledged as one of the most hilarious films ever made. The ribald film is a clever combination of many elements: a spoof of the 1920’s – 30’s gangster films with period costumes and speakeasies, and romance in a quasi-screwball com- edy with one central joke – entangled and deceptive identities, reversed sex roles and cross-dressing. FF This exceptional film received six Academy Award nominations and was the all-time highest grossing comedy up to its time, and one of the most successful films of 1959. This was Marilyn Monroe’s sec- Some Like It Hot ond film with legendary screen director Billy Wilder. EVENING GALA FRIDAY NIGHT New Suit – Michigan Premiere Director: Francois Velle; Prod: Christina Zilber, Laurent Zilber; Writer: Craig Sherman Cast: Jordan Bridges, Marisa Coughlan, Heather Donahue, Dan Hedaya, Dan Montgomery Jr. [email protected] (94 min. / Color) Fri. 6/7 9PM V1; Sat. 6/8 11AM V1 (COMEDY) - A satire about an idealistic writer who inadvertently ignites a feeding frenzy in Hollywood with the mention of a mysterious new screenplay. This hilarious comedy is set in the cut-throat world of Hollywood’s million dollar deal-making machinery.

TIMOTHY OLYPHANT “Raylan Givens” With an expansive list of diverse film and television credits, Timothy Olyphant is known for his poignant roles in both dramas and comedies. He most recently wrapped Breck Eisner’s remake of the horror classic The Crazies, which revolves around a small town beset by death and insanity after a plane crash lets loose a secret biological weapon into the water supply. Olyphant stars as the town sheriff. Overture Films recently released this film in February 2010. This past year, Timothy starred opposite Steve Zahn and Milla Jovovich in David Twohy’s A Perfect Getaway for Relativity Media, which centers around two couples who, on a Hawaiian vacation, discover that psychopaths are stalking and murdering tourists on the islands. He also stars in Gary Yates’ independent feature High Life, a comedy about four hapless junkies who plan to rob a bank. The film premiered at the 2009 Berlin Film Festival. In 2007, Olyphant starred in 20th Century Fox’s Hitman and Live Free Die Hard. Hitman, based on the popular video game and directed by Xavier Gans, centers around “Agent 47” (Olyphant), who realizes he’s being pursued by both Interpol and the Russian military as he treks across Eastern Europe. In Live Free Die Hard, directed by Len Wiseman, Olyphant played “Thomas Gabriel,” an internet-based terrorist who John McClaine (Bruce Willis) is trying to stop from systematically shutting down the United States. Olyphant co-starred with Elisha Cuthbert and Emile Hirsch in 20th Century Fox’s The Girl Next Door. Olyphant brilliantly portrayed “Kelly,” the porn producer and ex-boyfriend of “Danielle” (Cuthbert), who tries to convince her to come back to the business.

Academy Award-nominee Mark Ruffalo, Academy Award-winner Tim Robbins and Broadway star Josh Gad (“The Book of Mormon”) anchor a stellar ensemble that includes Academy Award-winner Gwyneth Paltrow, Joely Richardson, Patrick Fugit and pop star Alecia Moore (“Get the Party Started”) in her first film role. On the surface Adam (Ruffalo), an over-achieving environmental consultant, Mike (Robbins), a long-married small-business owner, and Neil (Gad), a wisecracking emergency-room doctor, have little in common. But all are in different stages of dealing with addiction. Confident and successful in his career, Adam is afraid to allow love back into his life, even if that means losing a chance to start over with smart, beautiful and accomplished Phoebe (Paltrow); Mike’s efforts to control his wife, Katie (Richardson), and son, Danny (Fugit), as tightly as he does his impulses are tearing the family apart; and Neil is still deeply in denial when befriended by Dede (Moore), who has just begun to take her own small steps back to health.
