Itinerary:

Denver Highlights & Heritage Tour - August 1 9am-3pm

Today we take a trip into ’s Wild West history through today’s boom town. Relax and ride in style while our guide gives us the history and highlights of Denver, . We will see many of Denver’s major cultural attractions and landmarks during this scenic motor coach tour. Included will be sights such as the Historic Larimer Square; Union Station, the 17th Street Financial District; Building where we will take a guided tour; Civic Center Park; the City and County Building; the ; the Molly Brown House (once home to one of Titanic’s most famous survivors).

We’ll also pay a visit to the Historic Five Points neighborhood, one of Denver's earliest and largest Black residential communities. Home of the Rossinian Hotel, which served as a jazz mecca to the likes of Louis Armstrong, Ella Fitzgerald and Billie Holiday, Five Points provides a taste of the alluring nostalgic ambiance of Denver’s colorful past. Here we we’ll discover a past not recorded in the history books. From early fur traders, gold miners, and cowboys, Five Points preserves the history and culture of African Americans who helped settle Colorado and the American West, including history of Dearfield, Colorado, an early African American settlement on the northeastern plains of Colorado. Here, we will visit the Blair-Caldwell African American Research Library. This treasured Five Points institution, founded by Denver’s first Black mayor, houses a museum containing historical displays related to the African American experience in the Rocky Mountain West.
