New Jharkhand a Progressive Journey Since 2014 Dumka Parliamentary Constituency PREFACE Shri Narendra Modi Hon’ble Prime Minister NEW RAILWAYS New Jharkhand A progressive journey since 2014 Dumka Parliamentary Constituency PREFACE Indian Railways is the lifeline of the Nation and a catalyst for India’s progress and economic development. South Eastern Railway (SER) plays a significant role in the socio-economic development of the state of Jharkhand. 36% of SER’s jurisdiction covers Jharkhand. With a view to improve railway infrastructure and extend the railway network in Jharkhand, the Ranchi Railway Division was formed in the year 2003. The Government of Jharkhand always extends necessary support and co-operation to this railway towards development of Jharkhand and improvement of train services. Railways have achieved many visible milestones in Jharkhand in the last 5 years in different fields viz. construction of new lines, doubling, introduction of new trains, extension of service, increase in frequency of trains etc. On the freight side, loading of South Eastern Railway has reached the mile stone of 154.87 Million Tonnes, where the lead role has been taken by the state. The changing face of transport sector in Jharkhand and the expectations of its people are being fulfilled with top most priority. Some of the recent achievements of railways and ongoing projects parliamentary constituency-wise in the state of Jharkhand have been highlighted in this Pamphlet. It may be noted that the budgets allocated to various projects are not apportioned constituency- wise but reflect the cost of the project. *Jharkhand Railway Network Map Not To Scale INPUTS BY RAILWAY IN DUMKA CONSTITUENCY DUMKA PARLIAMENTARY CONSTITUENCY A. In the first stage the expenditure need and revenue capacities are estimated. In the second stage an econometric analysis is attempted to identify the determinants of fiscal health. The nature of relationship between the determinants and the fiscal health indicator is defined by the relative strength of the ‘revenue 12 13 effect’ and the ‘expenditure effect’. We find that the role of the higher tiers of the government is important in bigger and smaller cities in their financial management. For bigger cities, own revenues can also play an important role in improving fiscal health. In smaller cities the role of the demand indicators is not that prominent but the cost indicators are found to be more effective while in case of bigger agglomerations, the demand indicators can play a role.

Of Soil Science & Agricultural Chemistry, BAU, Ranchi, Jharkhand Sponsored by : Department of Agriculture & Cane Development, Govt. of Jharkhand 1. INTRODUCTION Reliable information on the location, extent and quality of soil and land resources is the first requirement in planning for the sustainable management of land resources. The components of land i.e., soils, climate, water, nutrient and biota are organised into eco-system which provide a variety of services that are essential to the maintenance of the life support system and the productive capacity of the environment. Our land mass is fixed, but the competition among different kinds of uses for this land is increasing because of rapidly rising global population. Therefore, integrated land resource planning and management are required to resolve these conflicts and soil resource survey seems to be a viable means in this process and knowledge of soil fertility status and problems of soils like soil acidity/alkalinity become essential for sustainable land use plan. Soil fertility is an aspect of the soil-plant relationship. Fertility status of the soils is primarily and importantly dependent upon both the macro and micronutrient reserve of that soil.
