It plays a significant role in the socio-economic development of every region of the country including the state of Jharkhand. With a view to improve railway infrastructure and to extend the railway network in Jharkhand, Ranchi Railway Division was formed in the year 2003. The Government of Jharkhand always extends necessary support and cooperation to Indian Railways towards development of the state and improvement of services for the people. Godda Shivpur Sanki Tatisilwai Map not to scale In a mission mode, railways have achieved many visible milestones in Jharkhand in the last seven years in different fields i.e. construction of new lines, doubling, development of stations etc. On the freight side, loading has reached a new milestone where the potentiality of the state enriched with minerals played the lead role. The changing face of transport sector in Jharkhand and the expectations of its people are being fulfilled with topmost priority. In the wake of COVID-19 pandemic, Indian Railways is playing a significant role by taking various measures to combat the situation. With a view to contain the spread of Novel Coronavirus, Indian Railways is producing PPE Kits, Reusable Face Masks, Hand Sanitizer etc. In addition, coaches have been converted to COVID Care Centres. Some of the recent achievements of railways and ongoing projects parliamentary constituency-wise in the state of Jharkhand are being highlighted in this Pamphlet. It may be noted that the budget allocated to various projects is not apportioned state wise but ref lects the cost of the project. WORKS COMPLETED IN LAST SEVEN YEARS: B.1 Infrastructural Developments: u Shifting of level crossing gate lodges at 8 locations at a cost of Rs.11.52 crores u Electrification of level crossing gates at a cost of Rs.0.011 crores u Full wiring of line No.3 of Chitra colliery siding at Jamtara at a cost of Rs.0.41 crores. u Track machine rest room at Vidyasagar at a cost of Rs. 1.16 crores u Harinsing (Excl) - Dumka (Excl) 38.589 TKM Electrification completed u Provision of 05 nos. shunt signal at Vidyasagar station for yard movement u Provision of class A lighting protection system at EI cabin/goomty at Dumka at a cost of Rs. 0.033 crores u 1200 mtr. cable laying has been done at Vidyasagar u At LC gate no 10 (Vidyasagar) 300 mtr. cable laying has been done followed by fixing of 04 nos. 25w LED outdoor light feetings u 2500 m cable laying done followed by erection of 15 nos. of octagonal pole at Madankata u Earthing work have been completed at Dumka 20 nos. & Basukinath - 15 nos. u 01 no of Colour Light Signal panel has been commissioned at Dumka departmentally B.2 Passenger Amenities u Asansol Division - Eextension and raising of platforms at 10 stations at a cost of Rs.1.94 crores. u Provision of additional Foot Over Bridge with ramp at Jamtara at a cost of Rs. 4.48 crores. u Digital platform Clock at Jamtara, Vidyasagar, Basukinath & Dumka Railway Station u Train Indication Board & Coach Indication Board at Dumka Station u Computerised Auto Announcement System at Jamtara, Vidyasagar, Madankata and Dumka u Auto Announcement System in Santhali language at Vidyasagar, Jamtara, Dumka u CCTV Camera installed at Basukinath u Passenger Reservation System (PRS) at Jamtara, Vidyasagar and Dumka Station u Unreserved Ticketing System(UTS) at Jamtara, Vidyasagar, Basukinath and Dumka Station u Wi-Fi connectivity has been provided at Vidyasagar, Basukinath and Dumka Station u Extension of Platform No. 2 Jamtara Station at cost of Rs. 1.50 crores u Providing short/long term facilities for differently abled persons at Jamtara, Vidyasagar, Madankata, Dumka at a cost of Rs. 0.77 crores u 2 nos. Water cooler of capacity 150 lts. have been installed and commissioned at PF-1 of Dumka Railway Station u The following electrical items have been provided at Vidyasagar station : I. 250m cable laying done for signaling board II. 28w warm LED strip light have been provided at newly built portico III. 10 nos. of panel LED lights (14 w) have been provided at newly built waiting hall u 2200 mtr. cable laying has been done followed by fixing of 07 nos 25w LED fittings at Vidyasagar u Vidyasagar Station Facade and circulating area have been renovated C . ON-GOING WORKS: u Sliding boom type gates constructed at interlocked level crossings at a cost of Rs.0.016 crores u Upgradation of Level Crossing with interlocking 3 gates at a cost of Rs.2.10 crores u Track machine rest room at Vidyasagar at a cost of Rs.1.16 crores u Asansol Junction - Integrated power supply at 44 interlocked level crossing g a t e s at a cost of Rs.9.60 crores u Asansol Junction Remote terminal unit at 50 interlocked level crossing g a t e s at a cost of Rs.11.57 crores u Provision of video surveillance system at 1,105 stations D & E category of eastern region at a cost of Rs.10.58 crores u Khana-Jhajha CTRP 7.444 Km at a cost of Rs.12.34 crores u Jhajha-Khana -Pradhankhunta-Sainthia - TBR-151.97 Km at a cost of Rs 26.12 crores u Extension of platforms to accommodate 16 coach trains with foot over bridges at Kashitanr station at a cost of Rs.0.83 crores. u Extension of platform No.2 at Kalka end with other ancillary works at Jamtara station at a cost of Rs.1.50 crores. u Essential Passenger amenit i e s a t Madankata, Vidyasagar, Dumka, Basukinath at a cost of Rs.0.100 crores u Providing short/long term facilities for differently abled persons at Jamtara, Vidyasagar, Madankata, Dumka at a cost of Rs 0.077 crores. u Raising of rail level to high level platform at Madankata, Platform surfacing including other ancillary works at Madankata at a cost of Rs. 1.00 crores. u Provision of additional Foot Over Bridge at Vidyasagar station at a cost of Rs. 1.99 crores. u New Foot Over Bridge with ramp at Madankatta at a cost of Rs. 1.99 crores. u Improvement of Platform surface, provision of new shed, PF shed sheet replacement, provision of deep boring etc. at Vidyasagar & other stations at a cost of Rs. 0.99 crores. u Resurfacing of existing Platform surface, provision of Platform sheds, water supply augmentation, face lift of station at Jamtara, Kasitanr and other stations at a cost of Rs.1.64 crores. u Chitra-Basukinath New Line 38.30 Km. u Asansol Division - Replacement of STM-I by STM-4 for upgradation of Optic Fiber Cable communication system at Basukinath, Dumka, Jamtara, Kashitanr, Madankata and Vidyasagar u Sliding Boom type gates at interlocked level crossing at a cost of Rs. 0.016 crores u Upgradation of level crossing with interlocking at 3 gates at a cost of Rs. 2.10 crores SOME IMPORTANT PHOTOS Provision of CCTV surveillance system Enhance station facade at Dumka Station Extension and raising of Platforms Enhanced Circulating area at Basukinath Station.
