Riverview Cemetery Interments List RIVERVIEW CEMETERY INTERMENTS LIST Recently, the City of Hamilton completed adding missing interment dates to our cemetery database. By using the website, Find A Grave, an online, free, database of cemeteries around the globe including Riverview Cemetery in Hamilton, we were able to find most of the over 2000 missing interment dates. Find a Grave is an American website that allows the public to search and add to an online database of cemetery records. It is owned by Ancestry.com. It receives and uploads digital photographs of headstones from burial sites, taken by unpaid volunteers at cemeteries. At Riverview Cemetery, local volunteers have photographed 86% of the headstones and added that information to the Find A Grave database. Please note: some of the missing dates only stated the year of death. In order to make that work with our cemetery software, the dates were added using 01/01/Year of Death. You will see many records that show the interment dates recorded this way. Either the exact day and month were unknown or the headstone simply just showed the year. At the same time corrections were also made to the spelling of the deceased’s name based on how the name was spelled on the headstone. • Shawl-Straps by Louisa M. Alcott
Shawl-Straps By Louisa M. Alcott SHAWL-STRAPS. I. OFF. 'On the first day of February we three will sail from Boston for Messina, in the little fruit-ship "Wasp." We shall probably be a month going, unless we cross in a gale as I did, splitting sails every night, and standing on our heads most of the way,' said Amanda, folding up her maps with an air of calm decision. 'Hurrah! what fun!' cried Matilda, waving a half-finished dressing-case over her head. But Lavinia, with one sepulchral groan, fell flat upon her bed, and lay there, dumb with the horrors of such a voyage. 'Just the thing for you, my poor old dear. Think of the balmy airs of Sicily, the oranges, the flowers. Then a delicious month or two at Sorrento, with no east winds, no slush, no spring cleaning. We shall be as merry as grigs, and get as buxom as dairy-maids in a month,' said the sprightly Amanda. 'You promised to go, and if you back out we are lost, for we must have a duenna. You can lie round in Europe just as well as here, and I have no doubt it will do you a world of good,' added Matilda. 'I shall keep my word; but you will bury me in the Atlantic, so make up your minds to it. Do you suppose that I, a poor, used-up old invalid, who can't look at a sail-boat without a qualm, can survive thirty days of standing on my head, and thirty nights of sail-splitting, as we go slamming and lurching across two or three awful oceans?' demanded Lavinia, with the energy of despair.

This level usually asks you to recall facts, terms, concepts, and trends and may ask you to identify specific information contained in documents, maps, charts, tables, graphs, or illustrations. Items that require you to “describe” and/or “explain” could be classified as Level 1 or Level 2. A Level 1 item requires that you just recall, recite, or reproduce information. Skills Demonstrated: Make observations; recall information; recognize formulas, properties, patterns, processes; know vocabulary, definitions; know basic concepts; perform one-step processes; translate from one representation to another; identify relationships **DOK Level 2—Basic Reasoning Level 2 includes the engagement (use) of some mental processing beyond recalling or reproducing a response. A Level 2 “describe” and/or “explain” item would require that you go beyond a description or explanation of recalled information to describe and/or explain a result or “how” or “why.” Skills Demonstrated: Apply learned information to abstract and real-life situations; use methods, concepts, and theories in abstract and real-life situations; perform multi-step processes; solve problems using required skills or knowledge (requires more than habitual response); make a decision about how to proceed; identify and organize components of a whole; extend patterns; identify/describe cause and effect; recognize unstated assumptions; make inferences, Interpret facts; compare or contrast simple concepts/ideas ***DOK Level 3—Complex Reasoning Level 3 requires reasoning, using evidence, and thinking on a higher and more abstract level than Level 1 and Level 2.

  • Jockey Mental Health Once Again Under the Microscope Cont
THURSDAY, 16 JULY 2020 BENBATL EYEING INTERNATIONAL RETURN JOCKEY MENTAL HEALTH Saeed bin Suroor=s triple Group 1 winner Benbatl (GB) ONCE AGAIN UNDER (Dubawi {Ire}) is back in training and eyeing the G1 Juddmonte International at York on Aug. 19 for a potential return to action. THE MICROSCOPE The 6-year-old, a former winner of the G1 Dubai Turf, G1 Grosser Preis Dallmayr and G1 Ladbrokes S., showed a new dimension when winning the G2 Al Maktoum Challenge R2 over the dirt at Meydan in February before finishing third in the inaugural Saudi Cup. He was favoured for the G1 Dubai World Cup before that event was scrapped due to coronavirus. ABenbatl is well. We gave him a break after Dubai,@ said bin Suroor. AIn August we will start looking at races for him. He=s in the Juddmonte at York and when we get closer to the race we=ll see how he is. AWhether he stays in training next year, to go to Saudi Arabia and Dubai again, we=ll have to see how he runs this year and I=ll talk to the boss [Sheikh Mohammed]. He=s a very consistent horse and always shows his class. He=s as good on turf and dirt and ran a big race in Saudi. He was favourite for the World Cup, they all had him to beat.@ Jockeys observe a moment of silence at Southwell to honour jockey Liam Treadwell | Racing Post By Kelsey Riley This time last year, life looked a lot different for Ryan Tate.
