Peters Abstract. Where is the Law in Star Wars? Why in films so resonant with our current times, saturated with technology, enmeshed in political turmoil and structured by international—or, rather, intergalactic—commerce has the law been jettisoned like space trash from an Imperial Cruiser? My argument is that despite the lack of any overt references to law and legality, the Star Wars franchise in its mythological creation, as well as its capitalist construction, is in fact saturated with law. This law can be found in both the mythology and legality of ‘the Force’—that mystical energy field that supposedly binds the galaxy together, desires a sense of universal order and balance and seeks to regulate destiny itself. This is not simply to read ‘the Force’ in its mythical trappings as a form of natural law that seeks to provide balance to the universe, but, rather, as a representation of modern law and its concern with the defence and preservation of order.

With sufficient information, competition between different DRM offerings can help promote a marketplace for digital media products that is diverse and responsive to reasonable consumer expectations. This paper seeks to contribute to the public discussion and understanding of DRM in the media marketplace by systematically reviewing the types of factors that product reviewers, consumer advocates, and members of the public may want to consider when evaluating products incorporating DRM. Introduction The explosive growth of the Internet and digital media has created both tremendous opportunities and new threats for content creators. Advances in digital technology offer new ways of marketing, disseminating, interacting with, and monetizing creative works, giving rise to expanding new markets that did not exist just a few years ago. These technologies also promise to democratize the production of creative content by putting the creation and wide distribution of creative works within the reach of private individuals.     To What Extent Does Chimera Ant Teach Us About Humanity? A Thematic Look at Hunter x Hunter’s Chimera Ant Arc MrDrWombat Extended Essay: Film May 2015 MrDrWombat 2 Abstract Hunter x Hunter (2011) is a Japanese animated television series produced by Madhouse production studio. It is an adaptation of a manga of the same name. Chimera Ant is a story arc within the show that deals with post-humanism and the complex nature of humanity. My research question for the extended essay was, “To what extent does Chimera Ant teach us about humanity?” To investigate my research question, I watched and analyzed the Chimera Ant story arc, paying close attention to the character development and thematic reasoning behind character actions. I used knowledge of film language and context behind the medium of animation in order to create a mirrored character analysis of the protagonist and antagonist of Chimera Ant. Analyzing these two characters, along with the context of the medium of Anime, allowed me to construct a look at human nature through the symmetrical story arcs of these two main characters. After having done this, I concluded that Chimera Ant explores the human condition to a great extent, and uses the focus of these two characters as proof. The protagonist, Gon, shows the potential for evil in the best of us, and how good intentions can lead to bad actions. The antagonist, Meruem, shows the other side of humanity and identity. His arc teaches us the complexity of worth and strength within humans, and shows that good can come from even the most evil.
