  • GUNSMOKE TV CAST and DETAILS Premiered
GUNSMOKE TV CAST AND DETAILS Premiered: September 10, 1955, on CBS Rating: TV-PG Premise: This landmark adult Western centered on Marshal Matt Dillon of Dodge City. John Wayne turned down the lead, suggesting James Arness (who remained for its entire run). Originating on radio (with William Conrad as Dillon), it moved to TV in September 1955. Its popularity spawned a number of copycats, but none would enjoy the longevity (and few the consistent quality) of this classic. Airing for 20 years, it's TV's longest running prime-time drama (a record that `Law & Order' is currently chasing). Gunsmoke Cast • James Arness : Marshal Matt Dillon • Milburn Stone : Dr. Galen `Doc' Adams • Amanda Blake : Kitty Russell • Dennis Weaver : Chester Goode • Ken Curtis : Festus Haggen • Burt Reynolds : Quint Asper • James Nusser : Louie Pheeters • Charles Seel : Barney Danches • Howard Culver : Howie Culver • Tom Brown : Ed O'Connor • John Harper : Percy Crump • Dabbs Greer : Mr. Jonus • George Selk : Moss Grimmick • Hank Patterson : Hank Miller • Glenn Strange : Sam • Sarah Selby : Ma Smalley • Ted Jordan : Nathan Burke • Roger Ewing : Clayton Thaddeus `Thad' Greenwood • Roy Roberts : Mr. Bodkin • Woody Chamblis : Mr. Lathrop • Buck Taylor : Newly O'Brien • Charles Wagenheim : Halligan • Pat Hingle : Dr. John Chapman • Fran Ryan : Miss Hannah Gunsmoke Credits • Sam Peckinpah : Screenwriter Gunsmoke Directors • Harry Horner : Director Gunsmoke Guest Cast • Aaron Saxon : Basset • Aaron Spelling : Weed Pindle • Abraham Sofaer : Harvey Easter • Adam West : Hall

  • The Reminiscences of William Monti
The Reminiscences of William Monti Transcriptionist: Ludmilla Edinger Interviewer: Michael Conrad Session Number: 014 Location: Remote Date: 03/01/2021 Q: This is Michael Conrad with the Indian Point Heritage Project. I’m here with William Monti on a Zoom interview, the date is March 1st, 2021. My first question, if you could say your name and spell it? Monti: My father worked as a distribution manager for the Upjohn Company, which is a pharmaceutical company. He was a high school graduate and at first, he started working on the docks and my grandfather didn’t like that, so he got him a job working for a tailor named [Moskowitz?]. My father did not like working for a tailor, and he found this job with the Upjohn Company, on his own, and that’s where he began to work and he retired from there. I have a brother, who’s five years my junior, and while we were growing up, my father worked two jobs! He worked his day job at the Upjohn Company and then three nights a week, he worked for the Union News Company at Pennsylvania Station as a retail clerk, behind the counter. And I would go on Sunday afternoons with him after dinner, I’d walk him to the subway, and then I wouldn’t see him until Monday night when he came home from work for dinner. And my father always wanted to be an engineer,he always talked about being an engineer and I guess that sunk in with me and I decided early on that I wanted to be an engineer.

  • COLCPE Automatic It All Adds Up
It all adds up ost supporters of the NALC’s political action fund give through automatic deductions from Mtheir paycheck, annuity or a bank account, and we begin our annual tribute with these reliable donors. This section lists active and retired members who made donations through payroll deduction or through automatic deductions from an annuity or bank account in 2013. Automatic deduction, including those who give at the “Gimme 5” level of $5 per pay period, is easy—you sign up and you’re done. No check to write, and the donation is spread out across the year. Automatic donations are also helpful to COLCPE, since a steady source of funds allows for easier budget choices to put the funds to best use. Supporters who made both automatic deductions and additional separate, occasional donations will find their names listed only in this section with their totals including both kinds of donation. If you aren’t already making automatic deductions to support COLCPE, please go to nalc.org/colcpe to learn how to sign up.
