Drive from Belgrade to Obedska Bara (translation: Obed pond), a Special Nature Reserve located in southeast Srem. The fauna is made up of dozens of aquatic, wetland, and meadow species with the most interesting bird population. This pond is known worldwide since the mid-nineteenth century and Obedska Bara is one of the few preserved floodplains with specificities such as centuries-old mixed oak , swamp bird colonies and numerous natural rarities. Our next stop is Kupinovo, a village on the outskirts of the Obedska Bara. The village was originally a suburb of the medieval town-fortress Kupinik, the seat of the Serbian despot Lazarevic and Đurađ Branković. The village still contains the remains of the town of Kupinik. The oldest part of the village is preserved and protected as an Ethno-village with some of the oldest houses in Vojvodina, which are legally protected as a cultural property of Serbia. Some houses date back to early nineteenth century and are made of wickerwork with reed roofs. The houses have porches and docks with wooden columns and arcades.
