Team PWDLPts England 5401 8 France 5302 6 Ireland 5302 6 Wales 5302 6 Scotland 5104 2 Italy 5104 2 The RBS 6 Nations Trophy The Trophy was designed by James Brent-Ward, Designer and Managing Director of the Silversmiths William Comyns who produced it. The Trophy has fifteen sides – one for each player. It has three handles, one for each official – the referee and the two touch judges. The capacity of the Trophy is exactly five bottles of Champagne, one for each of the original five competing nations. It has the emblem of each nation around the base. These are fixed in such a way that they can be moved to accommodate the addition of new emblems when new nations join, as happened when Italy joined in the year 2000.

First Aid General principles in event of accident Remove patient from danger of further injury if necessary and make sure he or she is able to breathe. Stop bleeding. For serious accidents, all poisonings and most burns, call medical help at once or have a bystander call emergency services. Keep the patient as quiet, safe and comfortable as possible. If there is a significant flow of blood, as from an injured artery or a ruptured varicose vein, apply direct pressure immediately, preferably over a sterile dressing. Apply a pad and bandage firmly. If the blood soaks through, apply another pad on top of the original dressing. Bandage firmly, but not excessively tightly, and arrange removal to hospital. Burns, Heat Burns and Scalds Before treating see that your hands are as clean as possible. Do not apply lotions or ointment of any kind. Do not remove burnt clothing. Do not break blisters. Hold burned area under a cold water tap for at least ten minutes or until the pain disappears. Cover the area and burned clothing with dry sterile dressing if possible, otherwise use freshly laundered linen, etc. Bandage lightly. Treat for shock. If possible, cool the injured part immediately. Fractures Do not remove casualty until injured part is immobilized unless life is in immediate danger. Move as little as possible but place casualty in comfortable position so that his/her breathing is unobstructed and the injured part fully supported. Unless trained just support injured leg in the position found. Upper limbs can usually be supported by the injured persons. If this is not possible, do not move injured arm unnecessarily and support in the most comfortable position for the casualty, making use of his/her clothing. Shock printing Lay the casualty on his/her back, clothing loosened, head turned to one side and the feet raised, unless there is injury to head or chest, when publishing the shoulders should be slightly raised.
