Panthers vs Hamilton (2W, 6L, 1D, 7 points, 12th Place) July 5th, 2019 United Preview By Dan Smeenk Jordan Campbell Gabriella Cipriano Claudia Cuicani July 4, 2019 - The North Mississauga Soccer Club’s Panther’s women’s Sabrina Cunha team’s next test, against Hamilton Angelo Cutala United Elite, will hopefully be a way Cara Cutala for players on this young team to Claudia D’Angelo improve and to wind down the season. Emma Devies The Panthers will be returning home Lauren DiPietro to the Paramount Fine Foods Centre after nearly of month on the road. A Paige Epp boost from the home fans is appreciated by the players and coaching staff Emma Greenhough on the team, but Coach Tjanetis looks at in a much more everyday fashion. Mila Gretzky “A short drive to the field and home is always nice,” said Tjanetis. Alexa Harding-McCullough There’s no getting around the reality that the Panthers have had a difficult Alexandra Hebert season. They have gone without a point in nine games so far this year. Stephanie Mignano But the team has had some bright spots. Tori Evans has scored two goals this year despite limited playing time, and teenage goalie Sam Beckles has Stella Oliver shown flashes of brilliance in games where she has faced a lot of shots. Mia Palango Carla Briscoe also scored a goal last week against Alliance United F.C., who Gabrielle Paupst is ranked fourth in League1 standings. This was the first time the team Emily Penney scored since a June 7 game against Darby F.C., where the team lost 5-2. The team kept the game close, until the closing moments. Emma Ramsay Rachel Rosborough Against a Hamilton team which is third last in the standings, there are some strategies that Tjanetis hopes to employ in order to be competitive. “We have to put pressure on their back line,” said Tjanetis. “We have to look to move the ball quickly and switch the play often.” After this game, the Panthers will have three remaining games: two on the road against FC London and FC Oshawa and the season finale at home against Unionville Millikin F.C. on July 26. Let’s go Panthers!
