BAT MITZVAH Emma Halpern Emma Halpern, daughter of Melissa and Ben Halpern, will be called to the Torah as a bat mitz- vah at 9:30 a.m. Saturday, May 22, at Congregation Anshai Torah in Plano. Rabbis Stefan Weinberg and Michael Kushnick will offici- ate. Melissa is the sister of Blake, 20, Chase, 18, and Josh, 16. She is the granddaughter of Elaine and Sam Klapholz of Dallas and Sandy and Barry Halpern of Houston. Emma is an eighth grader at Fowler Middle School, where she is an honor student, cheerleader and a participant in Best Buddies. In Emma’s spare time she loves to dance, hang out with her friends, volunteer for the National Char- ity League, and looks forward to her time spent at Greene Family Camp every summer. For her Mitzvah project, Emma volunteered with Jasmine’s Beat, an adaptive therapy program that pro- vides movement and music therapy to children with special needs. She thoroughly enjoyed working with the children and helping them to enjoy dance as much as she does. Emma and her family look for- ward to sharing their simcha with guests from Houston and New Jersey.
