Since his debut feature film, Sundance Grand Jury Prize winner , Bryan has consistently entertained audiences by directing films that can be characterized by his bold visual style and richly drawn characters. His recent film, the World War 2 thriller Valkyrie, starring , , , , and , grossed nearly 200 million worldwide and gave the rebooted United Artists it’s first bona fide commercial hit.

Bryan first gained widespread attention in 1995 with the mystery/thriller The Usual Suspects, starring Chazz Palminteri, , , Kevin Pollack and . The film won two , Spacey for Best Supporting Actor and Best Original Screenplay, and Bryan won a BAFTA award for Best Picture. His next feature was the critically acclaimed Apt Pupil, which was adapted from a novella and starred Academy Award nominee Sir Ian McKellen.

Bryan followed with two wildly successful films – the summer 2000 blockbuster, X-Men, and the even more successful 2003 sequel, X2: X-Men United. He helmed the adaptations with a keen awareness of the 40-year-old comic franchise's of admirers. In television, Bryan directed the and serves as an executive producer on the Emmy and Golden Globe award winning Fox television series , starring , which is consistently among the top 10 shows on television.

Bryan loves all aspects of the filmmaking genre and has directed numerous high profile commercials for Magnum ice cream, Toyota, Degree, Coca-Cola, and 7 Up, plus a hilarious film for MTV starring Busta Rhymes.
