AUDITION PACKET

On the first day of SummerStage 2019, we will have auditions to cast our production of FROZEN. The Director and Musical Director will help everyone if they have any questions about the auditions and the materials. These gentle auditions are no pressure and there is no need to worry or panic. Just have fun and only do the things you are comfortable with and that make you happy.

To help you through the audition process, we have prepared this packet for you. If you still have questions, ask in an email to: [email protected] and we will get right back to you.

WHAT TO PREPARE If you are interested in A SPEAKING ROLE AND A ROLE WITH SOLO SINGING, you should memorize the songs and scenes provided in this packet.

If you are interested in A ROLE WITH SOLO SINGING BUT NO SPEAKING LINES, you should memorize and sing the songs provided in this packet, but are not required to do the scenes.

If you are interested in A ROLE WITH LINES BUT NO SOLO SINGING, you should memorize and perform the scenes provided in this packet, but are not required to sing.

If you are interested in GROUP ENSEMBLE ROLE WITH NO LINES AND NO SOLOS, you do not have to do the songs or the scenes at the audition, but we would .

EVERYONE MUST LEARN UNDER THE SEA (BOWS) FOR THE FIRST DAY, AS THIS IS THE GROUP NUMBER WE WILL BE WORKING ON AFTER THE AUDITIONS.

WHAT TO BRING  Your AUDITION FORM at the end of this packet.  WATER  PENCIL  If you have a cell phone or recording device you may use it ONLY to record your harmonies and parts during music rehearsal.

WHAT TO WEAR  Comfortable clothing you can move in.  Shoes you can dance in. No clunky boots or shoes that can fly off.  Hair must be pulled back for class. SONGS Girls - Please memorize For the First Time in Forever. Only learn Let It Go if it is in your vocal range. (If it is too high, skip it.)

LET IT GO (Begin audition at Measure 88)

Boys memorize In Summer as your audition song. Girls may also use this for their audition, but must also sing Anna and Elsa to be considered for those roles.

Everybody-Learn the end of the Finale as we will work on this the first day.

FINALE (Start at measure marked ALL to the end of song.)

SCENES Boys memorize Kristoff and Olaf Girls memorize Anna and Olaf (You are welcome to learn Sven, but that is not enough to audition for a speaking role with!)
