Replication and Innovation in the Folk Narratives of Telangana: Scroll Paintings of the Padmasali Purana, 1625–2000 Abstract In the Southern Indian state of Telangana, itinerant storytellers narrate genealogies of the local castes using a scroll painting on cloth as a visual aid to their performance. These scrolls are the only archive of these otherwise oral narratives; hence key markers of their evolution. Once a scroll commission has been decided, performers bring an old scroll to the painters and request for a ‘copy.’ Considered as such by both performers and painters, a closer look at several scrolls of the same narrative highlights a certain degree of alteration. This paper focuses on the Padmasali Purana that narrate the origin of the weavers’ caste of Telangana. On the basis of five painted scrolls of this same narrative, ranging from 1625 to 2000, this article explores the nature and degree of modification undergone by the narrative.

    , India Korea Technology Exchange Centre Inaugurated at NSIC by Shri Giriraj Singh, Hon’ble Minister (Independent Charge) Ministry of MSME The India Korea Technology Exchange Centre was inaugurated at National Small Industries Corporation (NSIC) on 10th July 2018 by Shri Giriraj Singh, Honʼble Minister of State (independent Charge), Ministry of MSME and Mr. Hong Jong Haak, the Honʼble Minister of SMEs and Start-ups of Republic of Korea, creating a new era of association with India and Korea in the field of growth of MSMEs both the countries. Inaugurating the India-Korea Technology Exchange Centre Shri Giriraj Singh, Honʼble Minister of State (independent Charge), Ministry of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises stated that the purpose of the India-Korea Technology Exchange Centre is to create a platform for Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises of India and Korea where they can be assisted to identify and exchange latest technologies, share management expertise, product development, technology applications for productive development. Also present on this occasion were Shri Ravindra Nath, CMD, NSIC ,Dr. A.K.Panda, Secretary MSME, Shri P. Udayakumar, Director(P&M) ,Shri A.K. Mittal, Director (Fin), Ms. Alka Nangia Arora, Joint Secretary ,MSME and senior officers of Ministry of MSME and NSIC. NSIC signed an MOU with Small Business Corporation (SBC) of South Korea to facilitate, assist and provide necessary support to MSMEs of both the countries to identify & exchange latest technologies, share management expertise, Product development, technology applications for productive development coinciding with the inauguration of Indo Korea Technology Exchange Centre at NSIC campus ,Okhla Industrial Estate,New Delhi.

The cumulative tests have crossed 4.23 cr today. 8,46,278 tests were conducted in the past 24 hours. India has registered 78,512 cases in the last 24 hours (Sunday, 30th August 2020). Hence the report by certain Media Entities of about 80,000 cases in the last 24 hours is without any basis. Of these, Maharashtra has contributed the maximum case load amounting to almost 21%, followed by Andhra Pradesh (13.5%), Karnataka (11.27%) and Tamil Nadu which stands at 8.27%. Uttar Pradesh with 8.27%, West Bengal with 3.85%, and Odisha with 3.84% are the remaining States contributing to the increased caseload. Of the total cumulative number of cases, 43% are recorded in just three states of Maharashtra, Andhra Pradesh and Karnataka.
