THE EDGESPORTS Football season rolls along

All three Wainwright and District Minor Football teams now have a game under their belt in the 2019 football season.

The Bantam Warhawks travelled to to take on the Bandits last Saturday, falling to one of the top teams in the league. They will look to rebound in their home opener at Encompass Credit Union Field on Saturday, September 14, when they host the Cold Lake Royals at 1:00 p.m.

The Peewee Guard Dogs hosted the defending league cham- pion Lloydminster Colts on Sunday, September 8. The Guard Dogs started off strong, but the Colts got the better of them in the end to hand Wainwright their first loss of the season. The Guard Dogs host the Bonnyville Renegades at Encompass Credit Union Field on Sunday, September 15 at 1:00 p.m.

The high school Commandos had a bye week this past weekend, but they will head to Lloydmisnter to take on the Lloydminster Comp High School Barons on Friday, September 13. Kickoff in Lloydminster is 6:00 p.m.

About 40 riders McLachlan took part in the charity ride on what turned out to be a beautiful day to cruise along the Alberta countryside. The ride served as a fundraiser for the CT scanner community project, collecting $1,500 for the cause.
