JOB SUMMARY:

Education Management Solutions is seeking a detail-oriented, -centric individual who will be responsible for helping the organization scale effectively by creating a combination of tools and processes designed to increase online engagement and support expanded sales. Innovation is second nature to EMS, and the breadth of our business is expanding. Growth at EMS requires leaders who move fast, have entrepreneurial spirit to create new products, unrelenting tenacity to get things done, and are capable of breaking down and solving complex problems. In this role, you will have the opportunity to work with our Innovation team across our flagship product lines.

The Innovation product line teams leverage many tools and technology to drive EMS sales and customer engagement and seek a Lead Product Manager to define opportunities for simplification and automation that enable broad scale in merchandising. This role will support product line teams as they drive sales and optimize the customer experience by removing manual steps, time, and effort required to launch new products and drive online, direct and channel sales. You will be the expert in target markets and buyers, how they buy and their purchasing criteria. You will be an expert on the competition and be able to position our products accordingly.

This role is expected to provide visibility to external stakeholders on the roadmap for programs and their status, solicit feedback from partners to enable continuous improvement, and drive adoption of processes and best practices internally while influencing external teams. In this role, you will support partner teams as they bring new products to market by streamlining the process of product launches, creating templates and team processes to simplify and eventually personalize the buying experience for each customer. You will be expected to escalate issues and unmet dependencies as appropriate to ensure every project is delivered on time, while insisting on the highest standards. You will also be expected to create, develop and drive integrated digital and other key marketing initiatives to drive ongoing and persistent customer product demand. You will be the key marketing contact for our – engaging customers for both new and existing products and growing our customer advocacy program.

A successful candidate will bring exceptional project management leadership experience in a fast-paced environment, and the ability to effectively lead cross-functional teams. This person will be able to thrive while scaling contributions from big picture process invention and simplification to detailed execution. They should also feel comfortable dealing with ambiguity and working in a very entrepreneurial environment. This position requires strong business judgement, high attention to detail, and organization, problem solving, and superior written and verbal communication skills. A track record of delivering results in driving process improvement in a dynamic environment is a must.

JOB SPECIFIC STANDARDS

Essential Functions

 Drive scale for the Innovation team by identifying opportunities for automation in the toolsets used by the team that will enable enhanced decision-making, high impact marketing campaigns and drive sales for the organization  Maintain a product roadmap and work collaboratively with the product line leads to establish timelines, track dependencies, and report status against key milestones. Adjust, update, and communicate project plans with leadership as needed. Apply high judgement to escalate when dependencies aren’t met or resources aren’t sufficient  Understand and articulate customer needs, conduct on-going customer research, market analysis, leverage internal knowledge and expertise and prioritize requirements  Identify opportunities to improve the customer buying experience for customers’ purchases, both online and through other means through collaboration with Product Management, the Marketing organization, UX Design, and Engineering  Strong portfolio management and championing projects that deliver strong business results for EMS products  Sales Enablement – develop and communicate the value proposition based on comprehensive market and product analysis. Develop the sales tools for the products and create go-to-market training for the sales teams

SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

 Demonstrated skill and passion for problem solving and operational excellence  Demonstrated ability to manage tradeoffs and evaluate opportunistic new ideas with a practical, common sense approach  Proven ability to influence facilitating agreement among stakeholders with different interests and manage competing priorities simultaneously  Proven analytical and quantitative skills; ability to use hard data and metrics to back up assumptions and develop project go-to-market business cases  Demonstrated skills in developing product roadmaps & functional specifications, launching new products, conducting customer research, and facilitating user-testing  Demonstrated ability to manage multiple complex projects and competing priorities in an ever-changing environment  Proven ability to identify, analyze, and solve ambiguous problems independently with an extreme attention to detail

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

 6+ years of relevant work experience in management for ecommerce, , or  Experience spearheading technical and go-to-market projects and gathering requirements across business teams  Bachelor’s degree required

 Operate successfully in a rapidly changing, highly ambiguous and undefined environment  High sense of ownership, urgency, and drive  Strong product marketing project management experience and fanatical attention to detail  Excellent oral and written communication skills
