The past history of En Sabah Nur was very much similar to his Earth-616 counterpart, until the day David Haller (better known as ) travelled back in time. Legion wished to murder Erik Lehnsherr, in the hopes of changing history so that his father, Charles Xavier, could succeed in his goal of creating peace between humans and mutants. David was opposed by the X- Men of Earth-616, who succeeded in halting the assassination of Lehnsherr, but resulted in the death of Xavier. Their battle in Israel, years before super heroes such as the and the would come to be, inspired Apocalypse to begin his conquest of the Earth and execute his belief in survival of the fittest decades before he had done so in the mainstream reality. In , David accidentally killed his father, changing the timeline and erasing David and the X-Men (with the exception of the time displaced ) from existence. Lehnsherr went on to become and vowed to continue Charles's dream and form his own team of X-Men. During this time, Apocalypse sired a son named Nemesis.

Apocalypse's first attempt at conquest was an attack on Cape Citadel, sending his Horsemen to take control of the nuclear missile facility for the intent to launch the nuclear weapons to decimate the human population. This plot was foiled by Magneto and his team of X-Men, when Apocalpyse attempted to kill the X-Men with his ship's weapons, Magneto stepped in and drove him and his Horsemen away. Apocalypse gained a victory that day however, by dispatching his son to destroy Magneto's school and killing his daughter Wanda

While this was a minor setback, Apocalypse eventually took over all of North America, making New York City his primary domain. He sent armies of genetically modified Infinites to cull humans all over the country, and focus much of his resources in attempting to eliminate the X-Men, but to no avail. His Horsemen changed to include his son (now calling himself Holocaust following having most of his flesh stripped away by Magneto and having to live in specialized armor), Sinister, Abyss, and Mikhail Rasputin. Apocalypse and his son decimated much of Japan horribly, maiming the Japanese hero and taking him prisoner to be experimented on. During a period where Apocalypse was injured in battle, he was taken to the Moon to recover under the care of his allies, the Inhumans, however when Magneto travelled there with a team of X-Men to attempt to kill him, Apocalypse was sent back to Earth.

Although the Human High Council in Europe amassed a large cache of nuclear weapons sufficient to destroy North America, Apocalypse constructed a sea wall defense grid that could in turn destroy Europe. Apocalypse eventually agreed to sign the Kelly Pact, agreeing to end his genetic culling of human beings,

But Apocalypse had no interest in following the pact. Even now he plots for more cullings and when the time is right he will strike. The Human Council’s days are numbered and when they fall the X-Men may finally fall as well.

The Horsemen The were the elite among Apocalypse's forces. The earliest incarnation of the Horsemen included , Candra, , , and Death. They were dispatched to Cape Citadel to take control of its nuclear stockpile and use it against humanity. Their attempt was thwarted by the newly formed X-Men. Gideon was slain in the process. Over the years, members of the Horsemen were killed and/or replaced by others. War was killed by Holocaust, Apocalypse's son. Candra was also slain by Holocaust. Death was replaced by , ruler of the Inhumans. When Maximus was keeping Apocalypse during a period of recuperation he attempted to slay Apocalypse and take over his empire. Prelate thwarted this by aiding the X-Men in defeating him. Maximus was slain by Sunfire. Another member was who was slain and replaced by Abyss.

The current incarnation of the Horsemen at the time of the Kelly Pact consists of only four members: Holocaust, Mikhail Rasputin, Abyss, and Sinister. Apocalypse Solo Buddy Team En Sabah Nur (Public)

Magneto

The past history of Erik Lehnsherr of Earth-295 mirrored that of his Earth-616 counterpart up until the time that he was living in Israel and first met fellow mutant Charles Xavier. At first Erik (calling himself Magnus at the time) came to have many discussions with Charles about the future of mutants on Earth and the coming conflict between them and baseline humans. However, history would take a different turn from thanks to the time travelling David Haller, Xavier's future son on Earth-616. Haller attempted to change his own worlds history by trying to kill Magnus before he would become the mutant terrorist he was on his world. In travelling back in time, David also inadvertently bring a group of X-Men creating the divergence between Earth-616 and Earth-295, and destabilizing all existence. Haller and the X-Men were struck with amnesia, with David being placed in the hospital that Charles and Magnus worked at. When David later returned he attempted to kill Erik, but found opposition from the time displaced X-Men who had just recently had their memories restored as well. In the final battle, Legion attempted to slay Magnus but Xavier jumped in the way, getting killed by his own son. This caused Legion and the X-Men to be erased from existence. With his best friend dead, Magnus vowed to follow Xavier's dream of creating peace between humans and mutants. In the aftermath of the battle, Magneto's future foe Apocalypse was inspired by the televised battle between Legion and the X-Men to begin his quest to cull the weak from the world.

Learning of Apocalypse's growing power base, Erik -- now calling himself Magneto -- created his own team of X-Men in honor of Charles Xavier. Building a massive headquarters located on Wundagore Mountain, Magneto took in many mutants and teach them how to use their powers and train them to be his soldiers to battle against Apocalypse. His first team included his children , Quicksilver, as well as , , , and the . Magneto also took in the young from , a young mutant who's absorption powers endowed her with magnetic powers similar to his own.

Magneto's team of X-Men changed over the years, and they were forced to seek refuge in various different bases. Magneto developed a strong relationship with Rogue and an equally strong friendship with . While hiding out in the ruins of the old Guthrie farm in Kentucky, Magneto and his X-Men travelled to South America and rescue political prisoner from Apocalypses forces. Upon learning that Apocalypse was healing in the Blue Area of the moon from injuries sustained in his last battle, Magneto led his X-Men in storming area in the hopes of eliminating Apocalypse. They were captured by the mad Inhuman known as Maximus who was allied with Apocalypse at the time but was secretly staging a coup. Magneto and the others were saved by their youngest member and while they would escape without destroying Apocalypse.

Following the departure of Weapon X and Jean Grey from the X-Men's ranks, Magneto was injured by some Scavengers. Learning this Holocaust sent his best warrior to eliminate Magneto. Wolverine tried to find the weakest link in the group and exploit it to those ends. Wolverine sought to exploit a love triangle that was forming between Magneto, Rogue and Gambit, which had come afoot when Magneto revealed to Rogue that he could safely touch her thanks to his magnetic powers. Seeing this Gambit to came at odds between Magneto and Rogue, and it was exacerbated when Rogue choose saving Magneto over Gambit. While Gambit succeed in slaying Wolverine, he quit the group over the seeming betrayal of his feelings and friendship[8].

Another of Magneto's relationships was strained shortly thereafter. With the mutant inventor , Magneto attempted to prevent the time displaced from unleashing a powerful virus on the world. On this mission they were aided by Nate Grey, the X-Man, another time displaced mutant from Magneto's future. While they succeed in foiling the Sugar Man's plot, Forge and Magneto came to odds about using the X-Man to help win the war against Apocalypse. Ultimately, Forge's insistence on returning Nate to his proper place in time caused Magneto to leave ending their association with each other. After his comrade Colossus refused to continue to fight for the X-Men's cause, Magneto convinced the powerful Russian mutant and his wife Shadowcat to instead teach the next generation of X-Men, a group of mutants dubbed Generation Next. Later, Blink, now a full fledge X-Man, disobeyed orders when attempting to stop a culling in Dallas, Texas. Magneto warned her to stop acting on her own again or risk being thrown out of the X-Men. Instead of detouring Blink, it instead sent her on a quest to try to prove herself, leading her to have a brief adventure in the . Despite going off on her own without telling anyone, Magneto still accepted her back into the X-Men upon her return
