It’s the first game of the Lugnuts’ 25th season, welcoming in the Lake County Captains for the opener of a six-game series. Play ball, and Go Nuts! What’s New: The Lugnuts’ stadium name changed from Cooley Law School Stadium to Jackson® Field™, the Nuts moved up to the High-A Central, and they accepted an invitation to affiliate with the Oakland Athletics. The A’s become the Lugnuts’ fourth MLB partner, following the Kansas City Royals (1996-98), Chicago Cubs (1999-2004) and Toronto Blue Jays (2005-2020). Covid-19 Regulations: Capacity is limited to 20%, with a maximum attendance of 2200 allowed per game. Fans and media members must wear a mask at all times, unless actively eating or drinking at their seat. Beginning this season, Jackson® Field™ is now an entirely cashless facility. No one is permitted within 12 feet of the playing surface. In-game on-field promotions are currently prohibited. Opening Day History: The Lugnuts are 11-13 all-time in the first game of the season and 16-8 all-time in home openers. The Lugnuts last opened up a season against the Captains on April 10, 2015, winning 3-2 at home behind a 9-K, 4.2-IP gem from Chase De Jong. De Jong and the top five hitters in the Lugnuts lineup from the game Tim( Locastro, Richard Ureña, Rowdy Tellez, Ryan McBroom, and Danny Jansen) have all made the Major Leagues. Lake County’s offense included four future MLBers in Greg Allen, Yu Chang, Bobby Bradley and Francisco Mejía. The Nuts also opened up vs. Lake County in 2014 (an 8-2 road win) and 2013 (a 5-4 road loss).     19 LC 119 0298 Senate Resolution 284 By: Senators Anderson of the 24th, Beach of the 21st, Stone of the 23rd, Black of the 8th, Brass of the 28th and others A RESOLUTION 1 Recognizing Todd Greene for his outstanding accomplishments in the sport of baseball; and 2 for other purposes. 3 WHEREAS, a resident of Alpharetta, Georgia, Todd Greene is a graduate of Evans High 4 School, where his baseball teams won back-to-back state championships in 1988 and 1989; 5 Todd graduated with his team having a 52 game winning streak, and his high school number, 6 10, was retired; and 7 WHEREAS, during his collegiate career at Georgia Southern University, Todd was a 8 four-time All-American where he set school records for hits (311), home runs (88), RBIs 9 (257), total bases (640), and slugging percentage (.709); his home run record is the third 10 highest in NCAA history, and he became the first player in Georgia Southern history to have 11 his uniform number, 20, retired; and 12 WHEREAS, Todd was drafted in the twelfth round by the California Angels in 1993, played 13 for the Angels from 1995 to 1999, and spent time with eight different organizations over 12 14 seasons in the Major Leagues; he played with the Toronto Blue Jays in 2000, the New York 15 Yankees in 2001, the Texas Rangers from 2002 to 2003, the Colorado Rockies from 2004 16 to 2005, and the San Francisco Giants in 2006; and 17 WHEREAS, Todd made 255 career starts as a catcher, including a career-high 49 with the 18 Rangers in 2003; he saw his most extensive action with the Angels in 1999 and set 19 career-highs in doubles (20), home runs (14), and RBIs (42); and 20 WHEREAS, he caught the ceremonial first pitch from President George W.
