MHA Plans Fall Campaign Kick-Off Real People. Real Help. Real Close. MHA Plans Fall Campaign Kick-off To All Wisconsin Hardware Dealers: Since the invasion of mega-box stores into cities and towns across America, independent hardware retailers have been under siege. Competing against the mass merchants has never been easy. The question I hear most often from MHA members is, “How can we move beyond traditional product and price advertising…and communicate our unique advantages of service, convenience, product knowledge, and local ownership?” Clearly, promoting these attributes gives us a real advantage over our big box competitors. With your help, in 2008 MHA will launch the My Local Hardware Store™ program in Wisconsin. This campaign will be similar to a successful program run by the Minnesota-Dakotas Retail Hardware Association. But the MHA campaign will speak directly to our state, and your customers, by advertising on the Green Bay Packers Radio Network and the Wisconsin Radio Network. It will also introduce a new “search” website, www.mylocalhardwarestore.com, enabling customers to find your store and learn about the great services and special features you have to offer. For this campaign to become reality, we’ll need support from MHA members. But I firmly believe it’s high time Wisconsin’s hardware dealers speak with one voice to a broad audience and toot our horn about the amazing array of value and benefits customers can enjoy by shopping at their local hardware store. Your pledge is essential. I hope we can count on you as we begin this new chapter in promoting Wisconsin’s independent retail hardware stores and all we have to offer. John J. Haka Managing Director, Midwest Hardware Association www.mylocalhardwarestore.com Real People. Real Help. Real Close. The green and white “G” may be the most recognizable icon in our state. • A New School Year
Fall, 2020 Letter to the Community The Blair-Taylor family has always been there to support our students’ and staff’s needs, and this year is no exception. Our Blair-Taylor staff thank you for the overwhelming support to help us to create a safe and healthy learning environment for everyone, and in turn, helping us get back in school. As you know, we are in this together. Physical distancing, masks, washing our hands, and using hand sanitizer have become a part of our daily lives. Please continue to help us to reduce the spread of COVID-19, so that we can stay in school and continue to give our students as many positive extra-curricular and co-curricular opportunities as possible. Referendum Our school board takes our mission statement seriously: “To educate all learners to reach their potential as productive citizens.” In addition, our school board understands we are here to serve our Blair-Taylor community. During Fax: 608-989-2451 the 2019-2020 school year, the school board directed the administration to critically look at community needs and educational needs and opportunities. After months of discussion, listening to experts, and reviewing data, the school board approved a referendum question for the November 3, 2020, ballot. We have an incredible opportunity to enhance services and educational opportunities at our United Campus. The question on the ballot is, "Shall the School District of Blair-Taylor, Trempealeau and Jackson Counties, Wisconsin be authorized to issue pursuant to Chapter 67 of the Wisconsin Statutes, general obligation bonds in an amount not to exceed $4,145,000 for the public purpose of paying the cost of a school building and improvement project at the united campus consisting of: construction of additions for a district daycare center and classrooms; renovations, capital maintenance, building infrastructure, safety and site improvements; construction of a baseball field; and acquisition of furnishings, fixtures and equipment?" Included in this newsletter are the fact sheets our referendum committee created.

Before the Federal Communications Commission Washington, D.C. 20554 In the Matter of ) ) Broadcast Localism ) MB Docket No. 04-233 ) ) To: The Commission Reply Comments of Morgan Murphy Media Morgan Murphy Media,1 by counsel, submits these Reply Comments in the Federal Communications Commission’s (“FCC” or “Commission”) ongoing Broadcast Localism docket.2 As noted in its Comments, Morgan Murphy Media urges the Commission not to force broadcasters to devote limited station resources toward unnecessary regulation in the name of “localism.” In its Comments, Morgan Murphy Media has demonstrated that many of the Commission’s proposed regulatory burdens – purportedly designed to promote localism – will instead undermine the extensive efforts that stations in smaller markets have made to provide local service. Local broadcasting is an expensive, technologically challenging and highly competitive enterprise. Imposing the additional burdens proposed in the NPRM will have unintended consequences. Presumably the Commission does not want to unduly increase the economic pressures on smaller market broadcasters, thereby thwarting local service with “a thousand cuts” brought by unnecessary regulation. 1 Morgan Murphy Media includes the following broadcast stations: Television Wisconsin, Inc. (WISC-TV, Madison, WI), QueenB Radio Wisconsin, Inc. (WPVL[AM] & WPVL-FM, Platteville, WI; WGLR[AM] & WGLR- FM, Lancaster, WI; KIYX-FM, Sageville, IA), Spokane Television, Inc.
