Dear, Kingussie Camanachd Club: Market Stance Playing Field, Kingussie On behalf of the Camanachd Association, Governing Body for the sport of Shinty, I am delighted to write in support of Kingussie Camanachd Club’s application to take a 25 year lease from Highland Council for the Market Stance playing fields on Ruthven Road, Kingussie.

Kingussie are recognised as one of the most forward-thinking and successful clubs in our sport. The major projects completed in recent years, at their home ground at the Dell in Kingussie, clearly demonstrate their commitment and skills in developing facilities and accessing funding. The Camanachd Association decision to work with Kingussie in hosting the ‘Tulloch Homes’ Camanachd Cup Final in 2021 is a clear indication of our confidence in Kingussie Camanachd Club being able to deliver an outstanding event.

Kingussie Camanachd Club are a strong community club that has achieved a great deal thanks to a large group of committed and dynamic volunteers. The Lease application the Club now propose will enhance the village sporting and activity facilities yet further and their commitment to multi-sport & activity use is clear

I am confident the Camanachd Association will have no hesitation in working with the club to make maximum use of the facility for additional activity.
