This much is r,rell recorded but what is not comnonly known is that Chrls also founcled the legendary Marquee CLub in Soho and ä1so the Reading Festival ! Many uajor bl-ues arti-sts were introduced to British and European audiences through the Barber Band. Artists such as SONNY BOY }IILLIAMSON, SONNY TERRY AND BR0IJNIE McGEE, MUDDY b/ATERS and more recently Dr JOHN were first spotlighted by CHRIS BARBER! This year Chris Barbert s Jazz and Blues Band are performing a series o{ selected dates. in England. They have played The Royal Festival Hal1, The Marquee, The ,Faj.rfield Ha11s and will now be appearing in the intinate surroundings of Londonrs premiere Youngs pub, The Half Moon in Putney.
