Jazz 91.9 WCLK Affiliations Michael Pharr Is the Jazz 91.9 WCLK Fall Please join Jazz 91.9 WCLK in congratulating General Manager, Wendy Williams, who has been selected as one of Atlanta Tribune’s 2015 Hall of Fame inductees. She will be honored on December 10, 2015, during the publication's annual celebration at the 755 Club at Turner Field. Williams’ tenure spans 21 years at Jazz 91.9 WCLK. She is credited with overseeing the 2012 signal expansion of the station and the format enhancement and design that has led to doubling the station’s audience. Williams is a founding member and Chair of the African American Public Radio Consortium, Inc., a national organization that distributes diverse programming to a network of more than 80 stations across the U.S. She also has served on the boards of the National Development Exchange, now Greater Public Inc., a public media organization dedicated to nonprofit fundraising executives and Eastern Region Public Media, (ERPM), a national association of public radio stations located in the mid-Atlantic and Southeastern U.S. ERPM that is dedicated to advancing public media by increasing the effectiveness, cooperation and significance of its members in their communities. Williams is a Clark Atlanta University (CAU) Alumnus and member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc. Kudos, Wendy! Januar 1952 in Los Angeles) hat es seit dem Beginn seiner Karriere immer geschafft, eine feine Balance zwischen individueller kreativer Vision und Gruppendynamik beizubehalten. Seine erste Arbeit als Session-Musiker fand als Teenager in den späten Sechzigern mit The Mamas and The Papas statt, die ihm aufgrund seiner unglaublichen Fingerfertigkeiten den Spitznamen ‘Captain Fingers‘ gaben. Seit seinen ersten professionellen Aufnahmen Anfang der Siebziger ist Ritenour mit einem Grammy ausgezeichnet worden, ganze 19mal war er für den wichtigsten Musikpreis der Welt nominiert. Er stand unzählige Male auf dem Spitzenplatz von Gitarren-Umfragen, er bekam einen ‚Lifetime Achievement Award’ bei den kanadischen ‚SJ Awards’, außerdem den prestigeträchtigen ‚Alumnus of the Year Award‘ der University of Southern California. Er hat insgesamt mehr als 40 Alben aufgenommen, auf denen sich 35 Hits befanden. Schon als junger Gitarrist war er aufgrund seiner Kombination von diversen musikalischen Stilen und seinen brillanten technischen Fähigkeiten ein gefragter Mann, was in mehr als 3.000 Sessions mit einem stilistisch breiten Spektrum an Künstlern mündete. Ritenour ist außerdem ein Gründungsmitglied von Fourplay, der wohl erfolgreichsten Band im zeitgenössischen Jazz. 2010 feierte Lee sein 50-jähriges Jubiläum als Gitarrist mit der Veröffentlichung von 6 String Theory, auf dem bekannte Kollegen wie Steve Lukather, Neal Schon, John Scofield, Slash, Mike Stern, George Benson und B.B.
