В предлагаемой книге читатель найдет сведения о биологии и систематическом положении Aristolochia manshuriensis и A. contorta и их ближайших родственниках, о проблемах сохранения этих растений в природе и разработках по культивированию изолированных клеток кирказона. Химический состав и полезные свойства Aristolochia contorta. .131 Заключение . 133 Литература . 136 ВВЕДЕНИЕ Эта книга посвящена редким в наших северных широтах растениям, представителям интереснейшего рода Aristolochia, занимающего пере- ходное положение между двудольными и однодольными растениями. Это реликты третичной флоры, сохранившиеся во флоре Приморского края благодаря отсутствию сплошного оледенения на этой территории во время последнего плейстоценового похолодания. Всего двумя редкими видами представлен здесь этот обширный в тропических широтах род. Один из них, кирказон маньчжурский, с древнейших времен использовался как одно из фундаментальных средств китайской медицины. И это, возможно, главная причина того, что это растение почти исчезло из природных местообита- ний, не выдержав заготовительной нагрузки, на которую было приговорено благодаря своей громкой в былые времена славе. Теперь кирказон мань- чжурский легче найти в европейских ботанических садах, чем в его преж- них местообитаниях. Из–за чего же много лет назад лекарь срезал последнюю лиану на Четвертой речке? Какой корысти или какой иной задачи ради, во времена былой «дружбы» китайцы уносили в торбочках через границу не только ле- гендарный женьшень, но и туго скрученные бухточки лианы ква–му–тонг? Одна из причин в том, что о лечебных свойствах кирказонов мир знал еще в глубокой древности. И пусть официальная медицина еще далеко не освоила лекарственные ресурсы, скрытые в представителях семейства ари- столохиевых, но с незапамятных времен до наших дней дошли легенды о шестидесяти почечных болезнях, лечимых кирказоном, о равных чуду вос- крешениях из мертвых после «разрыва» сердца, заживлении кирказоном страшных язв и ран. Само рождение многих людей, и то стало возможно лишь благодаря использованию одного из кирказонов, недаром европей- ское название рода – birthwort, которое является дословным переводом латинского «aristolochia» – обозначает «способствующий рождению». В разделе о химической природе действующих веществ кирказона мы еще вернемся к причинам этого странного сочетания свойств, и нам, возможно, удастся выявить связь между способствованием деторождению, регуляци- ей функций почек и защитой сердца, соединенных в одном растении. Собранные нами сведения позволяют выделить два исторических центра накопления медицинских знаний о представителях этого рода: Введение 7 европейский, где основным объектом стал кирказон ломоносовидный, снискавший себе славу «женского» средства с античных времен, и второй центр – в Юго–Восточной Азии, тяготеющий к Китаю. Информация об использовании кирказона в европейской медицине связывается с античными врачами: Гиппократом, Феофрастом и Диоско- ридом. Трактат в стихах «О свойствах трав», написанный в ХI веке ученым врачом Одо из Мена–на–Лауре, свидетельствует, что в те времена врачи уже детально знали свойства рода кирказонов: «Мы говорим: кирказона три вида всего существует: Длинным зовется один, обладающий корнем та- ким же, Круглым зовется второй, ибо круглый он корень имеет, Третий же вид – «клематис» именуется греческим словом, Тот, что по свойствам почти, говорят, равен круглому виду». Авиценна во второй книге своего «Канона врачебной науки» дает практически современную характеристику рода Aristolochia (кирказон, ари- столохия) с указанием применения: «Аристолохия очищает загрязненные злокачественные язвы, применяется при шелушении и наращивает мясо, в особенности длинная. Она же не дает гнилым и глубоким язвам обратиться в злокачественные. Если же ее смешать с «фиалковым корнем» (ирисом), то она заполняет язвы мясом... Аристолохия помогает от разрыва мышц и употребляется в виде мази от подагры, особенно круглая... Если положить ее в смеси с медом в ухо, она очищает ухо от грязи, укрепляет слух и препят- ствует зарождению в ухе гноя. Употребленная с перцем, она очищает мозг от излишков. Она также помогает от падучей и укрепляет десны». О каком из кирказонов говорится в этих древних источниках? Что касается цитаты из Ода, то там определение «клематис» достаточно одно- значно удостоверяет видовую принадлежность растения. В европейских старых книгах также под именем кирказона чаще всего укрывался кирка- зон ломоносовидный. Характерно, что в толковом словаре В. Даля (1998) кирказон идентифицирован как Aristolochia clematitis без каких–либо аль- тернатив. Вместе с тем в оксфордском словаре английского языка понятие birthwort включает два вида кирказона - длинный и круглый, причем по- следнему отдается некоторый приоритет. В восточной медицине использование лианы Hocquartia (другое ро- довое название кирказона, одно время распространенное в странах Вос- точной Азии) имеет еще более давнюю историю, о нем упоминается уже в первых вариантах энциклопедии Materia Medica. Освоение кирказона китайскими лекарями началось с использования его мочегонных и тонизи- рующих свойств. Была установлена также его способность подавлять раз- личные инфекции, прежде всего – в системе мочевыводящих путей. С этим 8 О.В.

    Anthomyiidae Study Group Newsletter 7 Spring 2009 The last newsletter for this study group was No 6 (February, 1998). Unfortunately since that date I have received few communications regarding the British species, and have myself been occupied with revisions of various genera of Anthomyiidae from other areas, mainly Afrotropical and European. Reports of some interesting captures were sent to me by Ivan Perry. In Newsletter No 6 he recorded 2 males of Paregle atrisquama (Ringdahl) from the River Findhorn area and Bridge of Brown. The first British specimen of this little known species was recorded in the Entomologist’s monthly Magazine, 1989, 125: 220. This was based on the capture of a single male at Cwm Pydew, Merioneth, on 4 July 1987 by Jon Cole, whilst on his way to the Dipter- ists Forum summer field meeting in Bangor. Only a few male specimens of this species are known from Europe, and Griffiths in his Revision of the Nearctic Anthomyiidae, could only record in 2001 two male specimens from North America. In 2003 Ivan Perry found further males of P. atrisquama in the Cairngorms, Inverness-shire, Coire an t-Sneachda. Up to this time the females remained unknown. When Judy Webb kindly offered to collect Anthomyiidae for me during the 2008 field meeting to Glenmore, I asked her if she would sweep vegetation and flowers in the area around the Cairngorm ski centre, and suggested that she put all the anthomyiids in alcohol. This would enable me to search through all the females in the catch, should any males be recognized.

A checklist of the anthomyiid species known from pre-war Finland was compiled by their leading regional specialist of calyptrate flies Lauri Tiensuu (1906−1980) and published in Frey et al. (1941). The Anthomyiidae were then not recognized as a separate family but combined with the fanniid and true muscid flies in a comprehensive Muscidae fam- ily equivalent of the present Muscoidea less Scathophagidae. Tiensuu’s list included confirmed records of 199 anthomyiid species classified in 41 genera and subgenera.     Anthomyiidae Recording Scheme Newsletter No 12 Spring 2020 By the time you read this in print, the collecting season for Anthomyiidae could once again be well under way. The previous Newsletter a year ago (see Bulletin No 86) highlighted three genera, Egle, Chiastocheta and Leucophora which are particularly suitable for targeted recording in the spring, so please look back at that issue if you are not already familiar with them. If you have good relations with local bee recorders, you might encourage them to look out for and catch Leucophora females lurking near the burrows of solitary bees. Noting the bee species on any such records would give added value. This issue reviews the continuing growth of the Recording Scheme database as well as where to find data on Anthomyiidae from other sources. Another good genus for targeted recording later in the season is Chirosia with its twelve species currently recorded in Britain, all of whose larvae attack ferns. As with Pegomya leaf-miners discussed in Newsletter No 11, the feeding signs of some species are popular amongst recorders, but the association with particular species is not as clear-cut as previously suppose, as discussed in the final item. Current State of Recording Database The number of records credited to the Anthomyiidae Recording Scheme on the NBN Atlas was 17,374 in early December 2019. This is a 153% increase on the 6846 which were initially uploaded to IRECORD in autumn 2017. However, the number of Anthomyiidae records on the NBN Atlas amounted to 30,643, a factor 1.76 greater.

Six species belonging to Anthomyiidae family among these samples were determined, including Adia cinerella (Fallen, 1825), Anthomyia confusanea (Michelsen, 1985), Anthomyia pluvialis (Linnaeus, 1758), Delia platura (Meigen, 1826), Pegomya hyoscyami (Panzer, 1809), Phorbia fumigata (Meigen, 1826). Adia cinerella (Fallen, 1825), Anthomyia confusanea (Michelsen, 1985) and Phorbia fumigata (Meigen, 1826) were identified as the first reports for Turkey. Four species are described as new. viz. Pegoriijri cnrrcrrierisis. Anthoniyin corzfiisrrrieri, Leircophorn ccirinrietisis and L. sirbsporisri. In addition, Pegornja Icireropirrictnto sp. n. is described from Madeira. Pegomjn sirnediimxi Hering (type locality: France) is syno- nyrnized with P. sirneclae Hering (syn. n.). Deliri cilitrirsis Hennig is regarded a distinct species, not a subspecies of D.plotrrrri (Meigen). A key to males and females is provided. Local distribution of the species. both ecological and geographical. is considered. and the anthomyiid fauna of the other Macaronesian archipelagos is reviewed. The origin of the Canarian anthomyiid fauna is discussed. The species al1 seem to be descen- ded from the fauna of the Mediterranean subregion and can be regarded either as (1) introdu- ced. (2)indigenous. or (3) endernic to the Canaries. Apparentlyendemic Canarian species are Pegoriiyci cnnnrierisis sp. n., P. vitrithornx (Stein). Little is known about the germination biology of Aristolochia. The specific objectives of the present study were to (1) determine the type of dormancy in seeds of A. contorta, (2) describe the embryo development, and (3) explore the influence of deep freezing of the seeds in liquid nitrogen on their germinability. Methods – Seeds were germinated in Petri dishes in sand previously sterilised at high temperature; germination experiments were carried out at 27±2°C under natural light. All measurements of seeds and embryos were done using light microscopy (LM). For cryopreservation, fresh seeds were placed in aluminium foil bags, immersed into liquid nitrogen (-196°С), and stored for twelve months. Key results – The seeds of Aristolochia contorta have non-deep simple morphophysiological dormancy. A variety of embryo forms were revealed for Aristolochia species for the first time. In 2004, we reviewed the metabolites of Aristolochia species which have appeared in the literature, concerning the isolation, structural elucidation, biological activity and literature references. In addition, the nephrotoxicity of aristolochic acids, biosynthetic studies, ecological adaptation, and chemotaxonomy researches were also covered in the past review. In the present manuscript, we wish to review the various physiologically active compounds of different classes reported from Aristolochia species in the period between 2004 and 2011. In regard to the chemical and biological aspects of the constituents from the Aristolochia genus, this review would address the continuous development in the phytochemistry and the therapeutic application of the Aristolochia species.
