From: Johnson Esther [mailto:[email protected]] Sent: 24 August 2018 16:54 To: Derek Macnab Subject: Planned engineering work on the Central line works in September Dear Derek I am writing to advise you that during the weekend of 8 and 9 September, we will be carrying out planned track works on the Central line. This work will result in a suspension of the line between Bethnal Green and Loughton, including the Hainault loop. The programme of work will involve track replacement work in order to make it more reliable. During the Central line works, customers will have robust transport alternatives including: · Stations between Loughton (including the loop) and Stratford will be served by a rail replacement bus service calling at all stations. · Passengers from Newbury Park, Barkingside, Fairlop, Gants Hill, Redbridge, Roding Valley, Chigwell, Grange Hill and Hainault should take local bus routes or the rail replacement bus to Ilford to change for TfL Rail or Network Rail services. · Wanstead passengers should take local buses and interchange at Manor Park or Forest Gate for TfL Rail or Network Rail services. · Passengers from Buckhurst Hill, Loughton, Debden, Theydon Bois and Epping will be able to use Central line services to Loughton and then use rail replacement buses. · Passengers from Snaresbrook, South Woodford, Leyton, Leytonstone and Woodford can use rail replacement buses and interchange at Stratford. The vast majority of our services will be running as normal, and as indicated above robust transport alternatives will be in place. For information about planning alternative routes, customer can use the following: https://tfl.gov.uk/plan-a-journey/. We have a thorough communication plan in place to enable our customers to complete their journeys including station posters and announcements, social media, customer emails, and information in the Metro newspaper. In the meantime, I would like to assure you that we will work to minimise disruption to tube passengers. Please feel free to share this with those who’ll find this useful, and let us know if you have any questions.
