Galloway, Ph.D. Dean, Honors College Abstract: Gender expressive fashion is a way of dress where individuals can show what gender role they are filling that day. Someone who identifies as gender-fluid may change their role every day because they do not identify with any one sex. Individuals who classify themselves as gender-neutral do not identify with any sex; they can be considered unisex or genderless. An androgynous person exhibits characteristics from both sexes, and this can be shown through gender expression as well as sexual expression. A transgendered individual is someone whose gender identity is different from their assigned sex at birth. Over the past few years there has been an increasing acceptance for these different gender expressions, and with that has come a large fashion movement. Through history different gender expressive fashions have been popular trends with the masses; and through my research I aim to uncover if the current fashion movement will repeat history and fade away or, if this is a new social reality that will forever change gender expression. In order to do this, I will first define four different gender expressions, and then research the historical fashion trends for each category, followed by the current fashion for the different expressions. -

''Sexuality is fluid''[1] a close reading of the first two seasons of the series, analysing them from the perspectives of both feminist theory and queer theory. It or is it? An analysis of television's The L Word from the demonstrates that even though the series deconstructs the perspectives of gender and sexuality normative boundaries of both gender and sexuality, it can also be said to maintain the ideals of a heteronormative society. November 3-9, 2005 Page 25 A round entertainment guide Town NOW PLAYING Guide to the Movies Reviews by Randy Montgomery Saw II (R) Grade: B- Starring: Tobin Bell, Shawnee Smith, Donnie Wahlberg, Erik Knudsen, Franky G By the time you pick up this issue, Halloween, 2005 will be in the books, but “Saw II” will still be playing on multiple screens at your local theater. I passed on the press screening for the sequel and missed th e opportunity to get in an early review. Although I have eagerly awaited the film, in order to get the full effect, I wanted to see the movie on Halloween weekend. My anticipation turned to disappointment. I looked bac k on my review of the original “Saw,” in which I stated the following, “Be prepared to be freaked! If you scare easily, then “Saw”is going to be like riding a roller coaster blindfolded with your hands in the air! I love horror flicks, and this one even spooked me!” (Wow, is that great writing or what?!) As I read the review, I remembered the unique sequences in the original which made it stand out from others in its genre. There were genuine thrills and chills in “Saw,” but, as so often happens with sequels, this film fails to live up to its namesake. The Jigsaw killer is back, and is playing his mind games on an entire group of people this time. He leaves their safety up to a detective (Donnie Wahlberg) who must unravel the mystery (and save his own son) from the sadistic game Jigsaw has created.
