Namaste,

In October, The Yoga Institute is blessed with not one but two celebrations - one is our very own Maa Hansaji’s birthday on 8th October, and then there is the festival of lights, Diwali, which falls on 27th October this year. For the occasion, Hansaji has shared some guiding principles with us and even revealed a few secrets from her life.

Never one to rest, Hansaji will then travel to Thailand to the newly opened The Yoga Institute Thailand for the ‘Seven Great Life Lessons Retreat with Hansaji’, taking place from 13th to 18th October. This is one week of direct learning from the great master, lled with rare moments of true realizations. Participants can also look forward to healing and nourishing food and daily and as part of the program.

We are also humbled to once again acknowledge that the Hon’ble Prime Minister of India, Shri Narendra Modi, has conferred TheYoga Institute, Mumbai with the Prime Minister’s Award for Outstanding Contribution for Promotion and Development of Yoga for the year 2018-19.

Read on to learn how Yoga can help manage panic attacks and how the Sahaj Aadhara Bhavasanas can keep us t and healthy. While life goes on gloriously at the Institute without the presence of our beloved Dr. Sahab, let us understand his revered thoughts on how ‘You lose when you win’.

MINAKSHI SULE At the outset, I would like to pay my sincere and humble respects to our Teacher at alma mater, The Yoga Institute. Based on the suggestion of one of my The Yoga Institute friends, I completed the 1-Yr TTC in 2008 at The Yoga Institute. Hansaji allowed me to get into the women’s special class. This one hour of daily practice of asanas where the participant benets physically and mentally through various Yoga techniques helps open newer horizons via change in one’s attitude. In fact, I have experienced a remarkable change in my inner self. Regular Yoga practice not only rejuvenates me but also enhances my condence. I feel that I have started understanding God much better via the Yoga Sutras and the Bhagavad Gita. Thus, TheYoga Institute has shown me the true path of spirituality.

This place is named The Yoga Institute. Within three months time and an intensive emergence into a completely sattvic environment, I have learned more about the depths of myself and the world around me than I could have ever imagined. Apart from the overwhelmingly delicious meals and the friendly, loving, and compassionate peers and teachers, the calming campus in the heart of a hectic city such as Mumbai is the perfect place to understand how to live a peaceful more fullling life in the midst of all the chaos. - Much love and best of luck to all the present & future teachers, students and simple householders that come this way.

I am blessed to be associated with The Yoga Institute, here you feel the MINI POTHERA positive vibes in the environment and people are very courteous. I joined Sadhaka TYI in 2017 aiming to do only certication and start my own classes. I have been practicing variation in yoga since 12 years (, Haath Yoga, Vinyasa yoga etc.) But at TYI I learned whatever I used to do was merely exercise not asanas and no co-ordination with mind, body and breath. At TYI I learned the real essence of yoga, which says yoga is the way you live our life. The knowledge of Yoga Sutra and Ashtanga yoga taught at TYI has helped me in my journey as Homemaker and Teacher

SUNI PESTANA I’m following Maa Hansaji since I rst started to study her book The Yoga of Student from Caring and other teachings of The Yoga Institute in 2013 under Jeenal Thailand Centre Mehta's guidance in Thailand. Then, meeting her in person in was as if I knew her since long time, she is so humble! She is friendly, warm and radiant. I felt connected with her in a deep level, her loving way of sharing her wisdom is such that you can only sit and listen, and you understand the incomprehensible. I was delighted with her sweet voice singing mantras, her deep but simple teachings always with examples from ordinary people like me are an inspiration to apply yoga in every moment. I truly recommend anyone to meet her and follow her videos and books. She a blessing and a pure light!

31 YOGASATTVA Shri Yogendraji - Father of Renaissance

The Yogis learnt without books and knowledge sprang from them in succession. They were teachers who matured their Philosophy in the solitude of mountains and in the hearts of forests for guiding humanity. Knowledge was already in Nature and what they did was to tune themselves with the chords of Nature so as to receive what She gives generously. The human mind being at center, the Yogi controls his energy and becomes receiver and gains mastery over all the Universal thoughts.

Thus to understand the cosmos and its mystery he reads his own mind and not the books. He sees things with his prophetic power, interpreting the Truth into thoughts. If he has to argue his words are backed by intuition which convinces the listener. Yogis have their way of reading their own mind which explains things better to them than the literature of the books.

Where from the purer thoughts come ? The answer is “from a pure and concentrated mind “. When Yogis concentrate, energy diffusion is arrested and such accumulated instinctive energy convergence leads to emergence of True knowledge from within. It is as if the Soul is getting reected into a steady mind. Soul or Consciousness being the source of True knowledge the Yogi thus taps the source of knowledge from within rather than from outside.

Yogic Concentration , Spiritual insight and intuition—the TRIO In Action against Knowledge gained by Observation, Analysis of physical forms and facts into logical conclusion is like a procient sculptor or a painter producing a master piece with mystical expression.

“Living beings face two major events in the world: one to get in it and other to get out of it.”
