 Indian Industries Association (IIA) will strive to provide employment to Migrant Laborers in U.P.  Indian Industries Association (IIA) signed an MOU with Government of U.P to provide employment to Migrant laborers in U.P  Chief Minister U.P lauded the support committed by IIA and other industry bodies for providing employment to Migrant labourers

In a ceremony held at Chief Minister U.P’s residence today with the objective to provide employment to migrant labourers , National President, Indian Industries Association (IIA) Mr Pankaj Kumar signed an MOU with Government of through Principal Secretary MSME & Export Promotion U.P in the presence of Hon’ble Chief Minister U.P, Industry Minister U.P Mr , Minister MSME U.P Mr and Labour Minister U.P Mr . As per this MOU , IIA will strive to achieve a target of providing employment to 300000 ((three lakh) migrant labourers in Micro, Small & Medium enterprises in Uttar Pradesh. General Secretary IIA Mr Manmohan Agarwal, Member Executive Committee of IIA and past Divisional Chairman IIA Mr Rajnish Sethi, National Secretary IIA Mr Rajeev Bansal, Divisional Chairman IIA Saharanpur Division Mr Kush Puri and Executive Director IIA Mr D.S.Verma were also present in the MOU signing ceremony.

National President IIA Mr Pankaj Kumar in his address in the ceremony said that this target will be achieved by exploring the possibilities of labour demand in all 90 lakh MSMEs in U.P through all 40 District Chapters of IIA in U.P and by the joint Task Force of IIA , Department of MSME U.P, Directorate of Industry U.P , Department of Employment & training U.P and Department of Labour U.P. Mr Kumar proposed that this Task force may function under the Chairmanship of Principal Secretary MSME & Export Promotion U.P. President IIA further said that the manpower will also be required in the ancillary MSME Units of large projects operating in U.P as well as upcoming MSMEs in Defence Corridor. This is an achievable target if we all work with full co-operation and speed. As per the MOU, Data of the migrant labourers will be provided by the Department of MSME & Export promotion U.P. In case of any skill mismatch, IIA will strive to organize short term courses / bridge courses through District Industries Entrepreneurs Promotion Centers under various schemes run by Department of MSME & Export promotion Government of U.P. Mr Pankaj Kumar said that with the efforts of Hon’ble Prime Minister and the Chief Minister U.P, the industry wheels have started to move now and IIA will co- operate with Government of U.P to ensure that this wheel picks up speed soon. Challenges and problems are there in restarting the industry operations and will come on the way in future. IIA alongwith the State Government will face and overcome all these challenges and problems. IIA has been an active partner of the Government since its inception in 1985 and have carried out several activities with the State Government including industry exhibitions like U.P Defence Expo, Khadi Mahotsav, U.P Industrial

Expo, India Food Expo , India Solar Expo and E-Vehicle Expo etc. The Government machinery is now proactive and role of MSMEs in the economic & social development of the State is well recognized now.

Chief Minister Uttar Pradesh Yogi Aditya Nath Ji lauded the support committed by IIA and other Industry Associations for providing employment to Migrant Laborers in the state. He assured IIA that all Government Departments in Uttar Pradesh will ensure that the problems of the Industry are resolved on priority. UPSIDA has been directed to create new land banks / industrial estates to accommodate new industries and to meet the shortage of availability of industrial land in the state , said Hon’ble Chief Minister. He further said that 30 lakh migrant labourers have arrived in Uttar Pradesh as on date. Government of Uttar Pradesh will utilize this human resource for the development of the state.

After the ceremony, National President IIA had brief discussions with Industry Minister Shri Satish Mahana, MSME Minister Shri Sidharth Nath Singh and Labour Minister Shri Swami Prasad Maurya on various matters related to the issues & problems of the industry. It was decided that shortly a Vedio Conference of IIA Members with Labour Minister Shri Swami Prasad Maurya will be held to discuss labour related issues.
