In General NEW other  DA Public Notification – Special Arrangements 2020/21 Christmas/New Year Period. The following public notification arrangements have been put in place: news… o The period between 20 December 2020 and 10 January 2021 inclusive are no longer counted as working days for the purpose of public notification of DAs. o DAs that are open for public notification between Sunday 20 December 2020 and Sunday 10 January 2021 will have 12 additional working days added to the public notification period. o DAs will NOT be notified between Monday 21 December 2020 and Friday 8 January 2021 inclusive. o Public notification of DAs will recommence on Monday 11 January 2021. Normal notification periods will apply.

 Approved Technical Amendment to Territory Plan TA2020-09 – Strathnairn. When land ceases to be in future urban area and amends the Strathnairn Precinct Map and Code for ongoing provisions. CONTINUING  Heritage Registration – Cinema Center, City. The ACT Heritage Council has provisionally registered Cinema Center, Block 21 Section 35 City and part surrounding road and sidewalk verge and is now seeking public comment on whether the Cinema Center should be registered on the Heritage Register.  Building Design Acceptance – A response to the Building Confidence Report Discussion Paper. A discussion paper addressing the process associated with building design documentation is out for public consultation. Recommendations 13 – 16 of the Building Confidence Report covers the process of design documentation, including the development and documentation of performance solutions and variations to the approved documentation. The recommendations seek to improve the standard and compliance of designs both as part of the building approval application process and in relation to design variations made during the construction phase and in some cases for constructed building work. Queanbeyan East Comments due Thursday 10 December 2020 NEW  Amendment to South Jerrabomberra Development Control Plan. The Queanbeyan have prepared an amendment to the South Jerrabomberra DCP (2015. The amendment seeks to include new and updated Neighbourhood Structure Plans (NSP) for proposed future land releases

at South Jerrabomberra. These are:

o An updated NSP for residential development at South Jerrabomberra (comprising South Tralee and Forest Morrison lands); o An updated NSP for commercial development at North Poplars; o A new NSP for commercial development at South Poplars;

o A new NSP for commercial and light industrial development at North Tralee; and

 Amendment to Operational Plan 2020-21 – Property Addendum. QPRC have proposed amendments to the 2020-21 operational plan property addendum. o Bungendore Carpark – QPRC resolved to finalise the design and seek tenders on the Bungendore carpark, with vehicular access form Ellendon Street. As part of the resolution, Council will progress the acquisition of and form a pedestrian access from Gibraltar Street to the

carpark. The land required for a pedestrian access is 15 and/or 17 Gibraltar Street, Bungendore. o Bungendore Education Precinct (High School) Proposal Addendum – QPRC supported the final proposal for the construction of a new high school in Majara/Gibraltar Street, Bungendore. The final proposal includes the Department of Education providing new high school; new floodlit sporting oval at primary school; new games courts; new QPRC community centre and meeting rooms;: new QPRC customer

centre and library; retained Mick Sherd Oval and facilities; financial contribution to new 8 lane outdoor heated swimming pool (to be

constructed by Council) and joint use arrangements for ovals, reserve, courts and facilities. As part of the final proposal Council agreed to the sale of the following land: . 2 Majara Street . 4-6 Majara Street

. 10 Majara Street . Majara Street road reserve between Turallo Terrace and Gibraltar Street. As part of the proposal QPRC will commence proceedings to close the relevant sections of Majara Street; subdivide and repurpose part of the Crown reserve on Mick Sherd Oval and lease part of the closed Majara Street road reserve to Abbeyfield Housing under licence.

 Renew 2620. The Queanbeyan CBD Spatial Master Plan (2019) sets out to transform Queanbeyan’s CBD. An 8 stage program has been developed. The objectives of the project are to:

o Improve accessibility and appeal of the CBD for residents and visitors o Make the CBD dynamic, smart, safe and connected o Increase high value jobs o Position the CBD as an attractive destination to do business
