Appendix D: Monitoring Plan

This study is based on mainly primary data. The primary data was collected in two rounds of surveys (i.e. baseline and endline). In the both rounds, qualitative and quantitative data were collected. The first round data was collected in six months, during August 2015 to January 2016 and the second round data was collected in six months, during May –October 2016. Please find the month wise activities in tables 1 and 2. In general, data collection was planned for 3 months for both rounds of surveys. But, due to huge floods in the fields, it took more than the expected time. Though people were very cooperative for the households’ survey, but, in general, it took more time to get all children of particular household to get information about their weight and height. Because at the time of visit, some children of a particular household were playing at different places, other than their houses. In the endline survey, some of the households displaced due to floods which also compelled us to devote more time in the particular village. Collection of qualitative data through focused group discussion (FGDs) and in-depth interviews of beneficiaries, non-beneficiaries, Uddeepikas, Anganwadi Workers, CDPOs and DPOs took more time than initially planned. The concerned officers were busy. It was difficult to take time from them. At some places, field investigators got appointment after their 2-3 visits. The Uddeepan Programme was closed before endline survey. It was slightly difficult to get Uddeepikas for in-depth interviews. The contact numbers of few Uddeepikas, contacted at the time of baseline surveys, were changed or not in functioning at the time of endline surveys. Beneficiaries and non-beneficiaries were slightly hesitant for FGDs because AWWs and Uddeepikas are from the same village and gram panchayat.
