    DALLAS ARTS & CULTURAL FACILITY OPENING GUIDELINES Updated July 23, 2020 As Texas works to reopen from its COVID-19 closures, members of the Dallas nonprofit arts and cultural community have created guidelines to resume operations once authorized to do so. The standards capture overarching safety principles and risk mitigation practices in our industries that will guide the policies and strategies unique to each organization’s art form, audiences, artists, and venues. This is a living document. We will regularly assess the evolving status of the pandemic in North Texas and will, in alignment with the latest scientific and medical recommendations, make changes accordingly. These guidelines have been reviewed by Dr. Trish Perl, Chief, Division of Infectious Diseases at UT Southwestern Medical Center and her recommendations have been incorporated. Background: Arts and culture define the identity of Dallas. It's an industry which, before COVID-19, had an annual economic impact of close to $1B supporting 33,000 jobs. Each year, the economic impact generated by these small businesses produce more than $45M in local tax revenues.1 Our diverse, growing cultural community has supported our reputation as a creative, vibrant city helping to attract talent, jobs, and corporate relocations to Dallas. They create economic, cultural, tourism, and quality-of-life ripple effects touching every corner of our city. To resume operations, we are adopting reasonable measures as a roadmap to reduce risk moving forward while providing a safe, welcoming, and respectful patron experience. Guiding Principles for Reopening to the Public: Each organization will determine risk mitigation factors for external and internal conditions that will allow for its reopening and ongoing specific operating procedures.

    Newsletter Colorado, New Mexico, Oklahoma, Arkansas, Texas, Kansas, Mexico October 2017 Amarillo Civic Center Complex Welcomes New Event Supervisor Amanda Gonzalez-Flores joined the Amarillo Civic Center Complex in August as an Event Supervisor. Amanda is a current student at West Texas A & M University, working toward a Bachelor’s Degree in Theatre Performance. Amanda worked in retail before coming to the Amarillo Civic Center Complex and has worked seasonally as an usher for the local production of TEXAS Outdoor Musical Drama. Amanda has always been interested in the entertainment industry and the details of what goes on behind the scenes. She hopes to grow in the venue industry and learn more about the management aspect of staging events. Bob Reykers Promoted to Sales Director of the Fort Smith Convention Center Bob Reykers has been promoted to Sales Director of the Fort Smith Convention Center! He replaced Jeremy Richey who recently resigned. Among other things, Bob will have oversight of FSCC’s overall sales and marketing efforts. Bob has been FSCC’s Events Coordinator for the past few years. In that role, he regularly was placed in a position of selling rentable spaces and services to both new and returning clients. Bob welcomed this responsibility and opportunity, and has excelled at it since. Prior to serving as our Events Coordinator, Bob was a key piece of our Operations Team, serving as a Building Engineer. This role helped Bob build a solid and vast knowledge of FSCC as a venue, which has proven to be instrumental in his notable success coordinating and selling events.

This time of year is very refreshing for me – warmer temperatures have returned, the grass is nice and green and the landscape is filling with colors. And in the office, we are beginning a long run of college and high school graduation ceremonies, where we celebrate accomplishments with graduates and their friends and families! Despite the busyness, it is a great time of year to refocus and renew. There’s another thing that is good to get done this time of year, and that is registering for VenueConnect. On the recent IAVM Board of Directors call, the IAVM staff shared that registrations are outpacing those from the past couple of years and the hotel blocks are filling.
