“It would be phenomenal to be recognised by such a prestigious body as the IoD” www.iod.com/westmids 15 Farewell to Dr Jason Wouhra OBE

The highlight of the IoD West Midlands’ summer diary was a wonderfully informal and enjoyable barbecue at Birmingham’s Botanical Gardens, where members said a fond farewell and thank you to outgoing regional chair Dr Jason Wouhra, who stood down from his position after five years in the role in July. On what was a gloriously warm evening in keeping with the hot summer we all enjoyed, the tropical gardens were an appropriate setting for this event. Compered by regional director Calum Nisbet, the evening saw Dr Jason thank all those who had helped him throughout his time as chair, particularly Calum and his predecessor, John Phillips, and regional events manager Sue Hurrell. Jason was joined in the spotlight by the new regional chair, Brian Hall, and his vice-chair, Jackie Hendley, Head of Tax at Smith Cooper, who welcomed guests and outlined their priorities over their respective terms of office.
