34 KNOWLEDGE FOR THE NEW MILLENNIUM University Mediterranean Dean's Note

Dear colleagues,

If you wish to improve your potential for success as a motivated graduate of our undergraduate study programme, you will be able to prove your abilities in both the local and foreign market. Active learning and acquisition of managerial skills are characteristics of our business education programmes. We particularly emphasize the possibilities of acquiring knowledge in the field of marketing and financial management, and communication and critical thinking skills. The perception of business as a science is focused on the quantitative disciplines such as finance, marketing, management, accounting, statistics, etc. However, we are also teaching the art of modern business, which is the development of the ability to think beyond data analysis. For this purpose, we have engaged high-quality teaching staff from the country and abroad. We provide modern working conditions and close connection with the industry, especially through work placements. We have de- veloped a unique model of study programmes in Montenegro, where special attention is paid to the acquisition of practical knowledge and skills. We cooperate with local business partners and recom- mend our best students to them. We focus on "professionalism" as our motto and the way of dealing with our stakeholders: students, partners, and the local and wider community. The Faculty follows an open door policy and maintains regular contacts with students in order to solve their problems in the best possible manner. Make the right move - invest in your knowledge! Yours faithfully, Dean Prof. Dragoljub Janković, PhD

Dear Colleagues,

In a time of transition and rapid shift towards an information society, the Faculty of Information Technol- ogy has a special significance and role to educate the specialists who are needed and demanded for further development and expansion of IT achievements. Computer literacy and the use of IT tools are important for business, competitiveness, profitability and economic development.Faculty of Information Technology implements the programmes for graduate (bachelor), specialist and master studies in dif- ferent departments: software engineering, information systems and computer networks and telecom- munications. During the studies, students solve specific tasks thus acquiring the skills and knowledge required for the work of future computer scientists. In support of the above mentioned is the fact that all of our former students have found employment immediately after the completion of specialist studies. During the studies, internationally recognized certificates for Cisco, Oracle, Microsoft and ECDL may be obtained. With the knowledge and skills acquired at the Faculty of Information Technology, territorial boundaries cease to be barriers to employment. “Take Your Place!” dean Prof. Slobodan Backović, PhD

70 KNOWLEDGE FOR THE NEW MILLENNIUM University Mediterranean Dean's Note

Dear future graduates,

Visual arts have, during the last few decades of the previous century, become one of the most important factors of cultural, media and economic development both worldwide and in Montenegro. This was the main reason for the opening of the Faculty of Visual Arts which creates and improves creative environ- ment for studying universal visual languages: the language of graphic and web design, the language of television and video, as well as the language of photography. The Faculty of Visual Arts of the University ‘Mediterranean’ in Podgorica has been designed in accor- dance with the latest standards and the Bologna declaration, thus opening the way for our students to European colleges. Our faculty has created the environment in which the students deepen, improve and direct their talent towards a successful career. Students at the undergraduate, specialist and master's studies can choose between the two study programmes: • Design of Visual Communications and • Audiovisual Production, Our curricula are based on modern technological and creative achievements in visual arts. They are accompanied by concrete practical training whose aim is to create for students the sense of confidence and assurance that upon graduation they will boldly enter professional practice. Students have the unique opportunity to learn from the experienced teachers who have world-wide reputation. The Faculty encourages immediate practice thanks to the closeness and the support of Atlas Televi- sion, the Montenegrin broadcaster applying the latest technology. Turned to global society, the Faculty is creating contacts with many European and international academic institutions.

Therefore, everyone has the freedom of choice, and that, inherently entails responsibility for choices made. Hence, this choice must be well thought out. When you realize that you will see that there are many reasons to enroll our Faculty of Law. We were founded in 2007 as the first privately- owned faculty of law in the country. The mission of our faculty is educational and cultural. Our goal is to contribute to raising the quality of the research of legal doctrine, profiling staff of special expertise and specialization. The time in which we are living is characterized by rapid development and different types of crime, corruption, trafficking, terrorism and other illegal occurrences. Therefore, the institutions should have the quality staff who are ready to face the problems and thus contribute to the achievement of the rule of law. We believe that studying at our Faculty will make you feel prepared to respond to these challenges.
