Ésta cumple una clara función como es la de crear atención y expectación, con melodías, ritmos y orquestaciones grandiosas que le proporcionan a las imágenes, una gran fuerza y vivacidad. Actualmente es un hecho irrebatible que el lenguaje audiovisual está totalmente relacionado con las imágenes y con sonido, como elementos imprescindibles para conseguir una comunicación más efectiva y práctica. Así, se puede afirmar que la música es muy importante, dando un sentido muy identificativo a las imágenes. En la totalidad de canales de televisión de nuestro país se pueden encontrar ejemplos claros de la utilización del sonido para caracterizar las imágenes. A través del sonido se identifican los diferentes canales televisivos, programas e incluso anuncios publicitarios. Los anuncios publicitarios se apoyan en la música como uno de los pilares del reclamo y atención del telespectador. -

DOI: https://doi.org/10.25222/larr.300 OTHER ARTS AND HUMANITIES Blackface at the Andean Fiesta: Performing Blackness in the Danza de Caporales Danielle Roper University of Chicago, US [email protected] This study assesses the deployment of blackface in a performance of the Danza de Caporales at La Fiesta de la Virgen de la Candelaria in Puno, Peru, by the performance troupe Sambos Illimani con Sentimiento y Devoción. Since blackface is so widely associated with the nineteenth- century US blackface minstrel tradition, this article develops the concept of “hemispheric blackface” to expand common understandings of the form. It historicizes Sambos’ deployment of blackface within an Andean performance tradition known as the Tundique, and then traces the way multiple hemispheric performance traditions can converge in a single blackface act. It underscores the amorphous nature of blackface itself and critically assesses its role in producing anti-blackness in the performance. Este ensayo analiza el uso de “blackface” (literalmente, cara negra: término que designa el uso de maquillaje negro cubriendo un rostro de piel más pálida) en la Danza de Caporales puesta en escena por el grupo Sambos Illimani con Sentimiento y Devoción que tuvo lugar en la fiesta de la Virgen de la Candelaria en Puno, Perú. Ya que el “blackface” es frecuentemente asociado a una tradición estadounidense del siglo XIX, este artículo desarrolla el concepto de “hemispheric blackface” (cara-negra hemisférica) para dar cuenta de elementos comunes en este género escénico. -

Vol. 25 Año 2014 ISNN: 1575-9733 º El verano azul de Curro Jiménez: la recuperación de programas de cine en TVE Virginia Bazán Pablo Sastre Recibido: 15 de noviembre Aceptado: 5 de diciembre Resumen Durante los veranos de 2012, 2013 y 2014 TVE repuso, en su segunda cadena y en horario de sobremesa, dos de sus series más populares: Curro Jiménez y Verano Azul. Desde su estreno, en 1975 y 1981, respectivamente, ambas series se han reemitido, total o parcialmente, en varias ocasiones en las décadas de los 80 y 90. Sin embargo, para su reposición en el siglo XXI ha sido necesario someter a estas series a un proceso de remasterización que garantizara los actuales estándares de calidad para la emisión. La remasterización permite obtener del soporte original cine, después de una serie de procesos técnicos y documentales, copias en HD (Alta definición) adecuadas tanto para su emisión por los circuiros tradicionales (Primera y Segunda Cadena o Canales Internacionales de TVE) como para su posible comercialización. Este trabajo describe, esencialmente, los trabajos documentales y los procesos técnicos necesarios para la recuperación de los fondos fílmicos de programas no informativos que se realizan en el Fondo Documental de TVE. From their first releases in 1975 and 1981, both series have been rebroadcast either in part or in full during the decades of 1980 and 1990. -

AN ANALYSIS OF VLADIMIR PUTIN AND HIS POLITICAL PROJECT (II) AUTOR 1: JAVIER MORALES UNISCI FECHA: Enero de 2004 Introduction This is the second part of an article that appeared in the previous issue of this journal.2 There we dealt with the first years of Putin’s career, concluding that there are many missing points in the official accounts of his service as a KGB officer. We also referred to his transition to politics beside Anatoli Sobchak, in the last months before the Soviet Union collapsed. Here, in section one, we are going to consider his positions at Yeltsin’s administration, and later at the Federal Security Service (FSB), the Security Council, and the cabinet. In section two, we will analyze the main ideas in Putin’s political program, as outlined in the 2000 presidential campaign. Finally, in section three, we will see how this project has been put into practice, contrasting several explanations of the president’s aims and decisions that have been suggested by the media and the scholarly literature. -
