Apaharan is not merely the story of the kidnapping of human beings for mercenary purpose. It is the story of the kidnapping of society itself. The kidnapping of the moral fiber that sustains a civilistion.The proliferation of crime, the precarious political balance of coalition politics, the so-called interests of minorities, fractured and purchased vote banks, a submissive and complaint bureaucracy, a corrupt police force…The blurring boundaries between politics and crime... The time of nexus is long gone. Now criminals are politicians and politicians are criminals... Politicians who operate from jails and criminals who operate from ministerial offices… As scared and fearful business communities, and the common taxpayer are extorted to finance this world, there is no right and no wrong. No fear of god, no morality and no principles…Everything can be is acceptable because the conscience of society has been kidnapped. There was even the pleasant surprise in the form of Renuka (Smily Suri), a young orphan girl whom fate had brought to Kunal's door step. Soon the two were in love and even got married but from here on life would never be the same again. The most sacred and intimate moment of a couple ? their first night together is captured on a tape. Kunal and Renuka are arrested. He is blamed for making blue films. Renuka is unable to deal with the humiliation and commits suicide. Kunal has to now prove his innocence and uncover the truth behind the blue film racket which leads him straight to the dark underbelly of Zurich. This world truly is Kalyug.... Strip shows, xxx clubs, S&M bars, legalized prostitution and drugs... it's one man's war against the world of pornography. Armed with only a picture of a famous Indian porn star? Annie (Deepal Shaw), Kunal gets ready to find and fight a faceless foe. This business revolves on the simple rules of demand and supply. As long as there is a need for blue films, someone will fulfill that need. If you dance with the devil, you don't change the devil. The devil changes you. Will Kunal be able to find Annie? Is she the enemy he is really looking for? And will Kunal be able to hold onto his morality in his all consuming desire for revenge? The movie also stars Bhatt favorite Emran Hashmi in a special appearance as Alibhai, the owner of a sex-shop in Amsterdam. He also sports a new look for the film with pierced eyebrows and red colored hair. And that's not all! Inspite of Durga being blind she has a special gift, she makes beautiful clay statues, a skill she learnt from late father. Durga meets the handsome Rohit (Arjun Rampal), who works for a fertilizer company. He is impressed by Durga's art and beauty and they both fall in love with each other. One day, a village goon named Rana (Parmeet Sethi) takes advantage of Durga's handicap and attempts to rape her. Luckily Rohit comes to her rescue. Later, Rohit takes Durga to an eye hospital, where Dr. R.K. Prasad (Kanwaljeet) performs a surgery on her eyes. The operation proves to be successful, but before the bandage is taken off from Durga's eyes, Rohit goes to arrange for their wedding. On the way, Rana and his friends try to kill Rohit, and in this incident, both Rana and Rohit die. When Durga learns about Rohit's death, she tries to commit suicide, but is saved by Dr. Prasad. Durga relates her story to Dr. Prasad who now considers her to be his daughter. He goes to Switzerland for work and takes her along for a change. In Switzerland, Durga meets Raj (Bobby Deol), who is a rich man and at their first meeting, Raj falls in love with Durga.
