Nagar 0 0 0 0 1,50,84,56,217 Total Note : 1- All the above mentioned information has been collected from concerning Departments, State Emergency Operational Centre and all concerned District Information Officers of States via E-mail/Fax/Telephone. 2- Out of 247 drinking water schemes, 194 schemes out of 200 in Garhwal Mandal and 38 out 0f 47 schemes in Kuamaon Region have been restarted. Now work is on to start remaining 15 schemes. 3- Out of total 2418 obstructed roads due to disaster 2215 are functional again. Work is progress to reopen the remaining 203 roads. 4- Due to disaster, 4200 villages have been cut off by road. Though 4092 villages have been reconnected, work is progress to reconnect 108 villages to roads. In this work, 385 Dozers/JCB are being used and more than 5800 workers have been employed. 5- Out of 3758 disaster affected villages, electricity has been resumed in 3752 villages and work is progress to resume electricity in remaining 06 villages. A Consortium of 7 Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) has been given the responsibility of preparing Ganga River Basin Management Plan (GRBMP) by the Ministry of Environment and Forests (MoEF), GOI, New Delhi. Memorandum of Agreement (MoA) has been signed between 7 IITs (Bombay, Delhi, Guwahati, Kanpur, Kharagpur, Madras and Roorkee) and MoEF for this purpose on July 6, 2010. This report is one of the many reports prepared by IITs to describe the strategy, information, methodology, analysis and suggestions and recommendations in developing Ganga River Basin Management Plan (GRBMP). The overall Frame Work for documentation of GRBMP and Indexing of Reports is presented on the inside cover page. There are two aspects to the development of GRBMP.     Char Dham Highway Project The Char Dham project is a two-lane highway project currently under construction in the state of Uttarakhand by the Border Road Organisation. Upon the completion of the project, it will connect the four important pilgrim towns of Badrinath, Kedarnath, Gangotri and Yamunotri. The details about the Char Dham Project given in this article will be useful for candidates appearing in the government exams. Overview of Char Dham Project The foundation stone of the ₹12,000 crore project was laid at Parade Ground in Dehradun by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on December 27 2016. The highway construction project is called as Char Dham Mahamarg Vikas Pariyojana and its aim is to improve the connectivity to the Chota Char Dham. The Chota Char Dham itself is a pilgrim circuit nestled in the Himalayas. E-mail: [email protected] Received:October 1, 2012; Revised received: January 31, 2013; Accepted:February 25, 2013 Abstract: Fish fauna of the river Ganga from Gangotri to Kanpur consisted of 140 fish species from 9 orders and 25 families; 63 fish species from 6 orders and 12 families in the mountain section (MS), while 122 species from 9 orders and 25 families in the Plains section (PS) of Upper Ganga. Cypriniformes and Cyprinidae were most species rich order and family in both sections. Forty six fish species primarily Cypriniformes and Siluriformes are common to both sections, only 17 in MS and 76 in PS. Orders Tetradontiformes, Osteoglossiformes and Clupeiformes were present in PS only. The taxonomic richness in the MS was low compared to PS. Probably motility and physiological requirements in respect of tolerance for temperature restrict faunal elements.
