You have an option to either walk or hire Pony or by Doli (at your own cost). After taking bath in Surya Kund (hot spring) Barkot visit Yamunotri temple "Darshan" and Pooja of pious "Yamunaji" at Divya Shila, Return to barkot & night stay at barkot. Yamunotri Temple - Situated at 3290 meters above ocean level. The Yamunotri Dham is the first hallowed destination of the Chardham Yatra. This Dham is committed to Goddess Yamuna, who regarded be as a daughter of the Sun God, Surya Dev. According to the mythological stories and convictions, the Yamunotri Dham was an isolation of a sage Asti Muni. For the duration of his life, the Asti Muni every day showered in both Ganges and Yamuna. Having your testy Uttarkashi- breakfast we will proceed to sitapur. After reaching, check in to your hotel. Relax after the hectic day. Overnight stay at sitapur. Sitapur (8 to 9 hours journey today) approximately Day 7: 04 June Early morning at 6:30 report to helipad. After performing pooja and Sitapur- Darshan. You can enjoy magnificent view of the Himalayas. Night stay at Kedarnath. kedarnath darshan NOTE : You can also visit Kedarnath Ji by trek (20 kms /08-09 Hrs per side) approximately Early morning you will drive till sonprayag (vehicles allow till this point) from here you need to take local jeep/ Max to reach Gaurikund (3 km, on direct payment basis (at your own cost) approx INR 100 per person approximately). Later check in at hotel. Night stay at Kedarnath. Kedarnath Temple The 1000 years old temple with a carved exterior is located in a courtyard protected by Nandi bull. This spot has great significance in the legendary Mahabharata epic. Inside the main sanctum is one of the 12 naturally formed 'Jyotirlingas' of India. The temple has carved shapes of the Pandavas, and Lord Shiva. Day 8: 05 June After amazing overnight stay in kedarnath. Having your delicious kedarnath darshan- breakfast we will transfer to sitapur by helicopter and you can also hire pony or doli. Sitapur- 20 kms /08-09 Hrs approximately trek from kedarnath to gaurikund. Karnaprayag Take local jeep/ Max from here to reach sonprayag (3 km, on direct payment basis, approx INR 100 per person approximately) sonprayag to sitapur walking distance are 10 to 15 minutes. After then we will proceed to karnaprayag & overnight stay at Sitapur. 3 hr 55 min (99.3 km) approximately Day 9: 06 June After early morning breakfast we check out from hotel and proceed Karnaprayag- for Badrinath. After reach there we will do tasty dinner & spend our night stay at badrinath. Badrinath 4 hr 43 min (122.1 km) approximately Day 10: 07 June After early morning breakfast we will proceed for Badrinath Badrinath Darshan- Darshan (Badrinath was re-established as a major pilgrimage site by Adi Mana village – Shankara in the 8th century.[6] In earlier days, pilgrims used to walk Karnaprayag hundreds of miles to visit Badrinath temple) After we will proceed for Mana village- (Mana village lies on the banks of Saraswati river, and is around 5 km from the famous Hindu pilgrimage centre Badrinath. Memorandum of Agreement (MoA) has been signed between 7 IITs (Bombay, Delhi, Guwahati, Kanpur, Kharagpur, Madras and Roorkee) and MoEF for this purpose on July 6, 2010. This report is one of the many reports prepared by IITs to describe the strategy, information, methodology, analysis and suggestions and recommendations in developing Ganga River Basin Management Plan (GRBMP). The overall Frame Work for documentation of GRBMP and Indexing of Reports is presented on the inside cover page. There are two aspects to the development of GRBMP.     Press Release HCC-DBL JV wins Rs. 1,335 crore Rail Vikas Nigam order Mumbai, August 19, 2020: Hindustan Construction Company Ltd. (HCC), in a joint venture with Dilip Buildcon Limited (DBL), has been awarded a Rs.1,335 crore contract by the Rail Vikas Nigam, for construction of tunnels, bridges and formation works under package–9 of the new broad gauge rail line between Rishikesh and Karanprayag in Uttarakhand. HCC share in the JV is 60% (i.e. Rs.801 crore). This is an item rate contract for construction of 8.04 km long rail line involving 6.4 km long main tunnel and 6.3 km long escape tunnel, 2 major bridges and one minor bridge, 2.2 km long yard and a station at Karanprayag. The work is to be completed in 50 months. Mr. Arjun Dhawan, Group Chief Executive Officer, HCC said, “This is our third order win this quarter. RVNL’s 125 km new broad gauge rail line between Rishikesh to Karnaprayag will boost tourism, trade and connectivity for pilgrims between the five districts of Uttarakhand, including Dehradun, Tehri Garhwal, Garhwal, Rudraprayag and Chamoli.” It comprises of 17 tunnels, 16 Major Railway bridges and 12 new stations. The rail line will connect to the new trade centres and will pass through many famous places connecting Devprayag, Srinagar, Rudraprayag, Gauchar, Karnprayag, Dehradun, Tehri Garhwal, Pauri Garhwal, Rudraprayag and Chamoli. Abstract In June 2013 multiple disaster involving flash flood and landslides struck many parts of Uttarakhand state. This caused massive devastation in the state on 16 and 17 June, 2013. In the present paper, attempt was made to analysis the landslide incidences and damages in Chamoli district. A total of 220 landslides were observed in the area. About 92% of slide occurred on northerly (48 percent) and southerly (43 percent) facing slopes. These may be subject to freeze-thaw and drier cycles. Heavy rainfall and low shear strength of the rocks have played a major role in facilitating these slides.
