Students can choose from 51 majors and 82 minors offered through three schools: Business; Letters, Arts and Sciences; and Professional Studies. Programs range from the traditional disciplines, such as history and biology, to contemporary fields of study, such as Chicano studies and health care management. Here are but a few examples of their achievements: • Kevin Humphreys, a 1992 graduate of the criminalistics program in the Department of Chemistry, is the supervising agent for the Colorado Bureau of Investigation Western Slope Regional Laboratory in Montrose. • Joanne IntVeld, M.D. (‘83, nursing) practices internal medicine in Cook, Minnesota. • Dave Zur, who graduated in 1989 with a degree in marketing and media communications, is the vice president of operations for Altitude Sports television in Denver. • Flora Rodriquez Russel, (‘79, behavioral science), a psychiatric social worker for the Denver Department of Health and Hospitals, and received the 2007 César Chávez Leadership Hall of Fame Award. • Colorado State Rep. Joe Rice (‘89, history) is a lieutenant colonel in the Army Reserve and has been recalled for a third combat tour of duty in Iraq. • Tracie Keesee (‘97, political science) is commander of patrol for the largest district of the Denver Police Department.
