Directions for Choir at Requiem Mass (Editor's Note: See last month's CAECILIA for directions at High Mass, and next month's is- sue for Vespers and Benediction.) 1-Introit is begun as soon as the Priest reaches the foot of the altar. 2-The Kyrie follows at once. 3-A Prayer then follows, after which the Response Amen is sung. Then comes the Epistle immediately after which the Gradual is sung, with the Tract following im­ mediately and the Sequence (Dies Irae) right after that. 4--The Offertory then follows : 5-At the Preface: After, Per Omnia, etc., respond-Amen. After, Dominus Vobiscum, respond-Et cum sp1ntu tuo. After, Sursum Corda, respond-Habemus ad Dominnm. After, Domino Deo nostro, respond-Dignum et justum est. 6--The Sanctus and Benedictus are then sung. 7-At the Pater Noster: After, Per Omnia, etc., respond-Amen. After, et ne nos inducas in tentationem, respond - Sed libera nos a male. After, Per Amnia, etc., as above, the priest sings Pax Domini sit semper vobiscum. To which the choir responds-et cum spiritu tuo. 8-The choir then sings the Agnus Dei, fonowed by the Communion as soon as the Cele­ brant has taken the Ablutions. 9-The prayer "Praesta quaesumus" follows after which, answer-Amen. l~Priest then sings Requiescant in pace, followed by choir-Amen. 11-Libera is then sung. 12-Celebrant recites Pater Noster until-Et ne nos inducas in tentationem. Following which the choir responds Sed Libera nos a malo. 13-The Celebrant and choir then sing antiphonally: Priest Choir A porta inferi. Eru Domine animam ejus, (if the Requiem is for one person.
