Don’t hesitate to call us with any concerns or questions! Spring Clean Up The Spring Clean Up will take place in March, weather permitting. Leaves and debris will be raked, (and/or blown) and removed from all landscape and hardscape areas. Tree wells in turf areas will be inspected and established to allow for better water absorption and to prevent damage to tree trunks. Trees (up to 15 ft.) and shrubs will receive a seasonal pruning. Weed abatement will commence, using a combination of herbicides and manual pulling. Aeration One aeration service will take place in the spring after the irrigation system has been turned on for the season. Soil plugs will be removed from hardscapes but remain on turf areas to decompose into valuable nutrients. A second aeration can be done in the fall for an additional charge. Turf Area Maintenance Grass is mowed on a weekly basis during the growing season (approximately April – November). 4 5 Mowing patterns are alternated. This is not only for aesthetic reasons, but also to encourage more upright growth and help prevent ruts and compaction in the lawn. Clippings are mulched and will decompose into beneficial organic material. Work will be performed in a manner that prevents damage to trees, shrubs, turf, buildings, parked cars, site fixtures, irrigation systems and landscape lighting. Mowing around water features will be done in such a manner as to avoid discharge of clippings into features. Turf edges along hard surfaces will be edged vertically (not tapered), and the trimming of tree wells and planter beds will be done on a weekly basis. RGL removes all clippings from sidewalks, curbs and roadways. Fertilization/Pre-Emergent Turf Fertilization: RGL uses a custom fertilizer blend that provides longer lasting nutrients, minimizes broadleaf infestation and reduces water usage. RGL fertilizes 2 to 3 times per year, depending on soil conditions and turf health and appearance. Soil testing will be done to ensure turf is receiving proper care and nutrients. Tree/Shrub Fertilization: All plant material will receive fertilizations to obtain maximum results and contribute to a shrub’s overall health. All plants will be observed for nutritional deficiencies and insect infestations. Recommendations will be made for treatment. Herbicide Weed Control: Pre-emergent will be applied in late winter/early spring to lawn, planter beds and hardscape cracks and seams in an effort to reduce weed growth in the spring and summer. Post-emergent will further inhibit growth of lawn weeds and is incorporated into the second fertilization. Planters will be treated with post emergent throughout the season as required. Grounds Care 5 6 Debris and trash will be removed from planters, sidewalks and curbs adjacent to the landscaping. Weeds will be removed as needed. Tree stakes will be inspected and adjusted or removed as required. All areas with decomposed granite shall be raked periodically. RGL will notify the client if mulch areas need to be refreshed or replenished. This is out of scope of this contract and will be completed after client approval. Pruning RGL performs seasonal pruning of flowers, shrubs and trees up to 15
