By Marty Chakoian The Phinney Neighborhood Associa- tion (PNA) is one step closer to owning the property where the Greenwood Se- nior Center has served Seattle’s seniors since 1978. The transfer of ownership from the City of Seattle to the PNA achieved a ma- jor milestone when the City completed the first step in the review period, dur- ing which the community was asked to comment on the proposed change. Neighbors and program participants alike overwhelmingly supported the property transfer, which would give the building and grounds to the PNA at no cost in exchange for preserving the pri- mary purpose of the Greenwood Senior Center (GSC): a hub for services to se- niors and to the community.
